I don't see much point in retrofitting games like HL2 to use Natal. It's nice as an option, I suppose. But it's a shooter, and there's the problem of the lack of tactile feedback, for one thing.
Natal's real strengths would, IMO, lie in new and sophisticated and more realistic ways to interact with games and their gameworlds, which I'd expect from games built with Natal in mind rather than without.

i wanna play videogames on my couch or seat infront of TV, monitor, projector-screen whatever. I want the least physical input possible for my games with instant feedback (no lag) and no need to move my whole body at all. If I wanna fucking jump around like a retard I go outside and play a real game/do a real sport with real people out in the open where the air is fresh, there is more room for you to flap your arms and get hurt or whatever. This is so gimmick-y, it is certainly not aimed at me (or my demographic whatever that is). I hate controller-vibration, it's an immersion-BREAKING gimmick imo so I can't see myself EVER enjoying something like this.
The only thing I would want them to work on is seamless integration of visuals into your perception (3D-projection into your eye, no need for screens anymore).

Except the majority of the casual audience have bought Nintendo hardware.
I'm pretty sure the majority of the casual audience doesn't have any consoles at all. The majority of the casual audience is the girlfriend/family of the guy with a 360, or a PS3. Yeah I think this thing will sell, if it generates good word of mouth.

could be neat for cinematic purposes. Seeing how the screen moved when he was playing with it. Might work for guys trying to machinima to make it seem more natural? aside from that... meh.

lol? I agree entirely with mothra's post. I watched Minority Report and thought "Why the fuck is he expending so much energy just to move some windows around? Future computers suck."
I'd rather they worked on that controller that works using your brainwaves. Then I wouldn't even have to bother tiring myself out using a mouse and keyboard. :cheeky:

Though his comment about contoller vibration was typically idiotic.

Of course it is. Example: Silent Hill. Since you have no HUD (how's that for consolitis, you fucking elitists) you have to occasionally check the status screen... or pay attention to your controller, since as your health detoriates, your controller vibrates slightly like a heartbeat, getting faster and faster... much like yours.

Also try playing the Zelda: OoT's fishing mini-game without rumble.

I used to hold mothra's opinion about the whole waggle-flail circus act thing, and I still do to an extent - I'm not about to hold my arms out for hours on end to do simple shit like flipping windows when a simple click would suffice.
However, I don't see any reason why the tech can't recognise small gestures - the flick of a finger or a slight waggle and so forth.
Controller vibration being a gimmick, though? That argument is so last decade. The man obviously hasn't had a girlfriend who's played Rez.

Or a girlfriend.
