Also, the sorceress is now david bowie.
Probably because you can get married and the only candidates are female. I guess they didn't want/have time to make entirely different dialogue options for different characters (to avoid the whole gay marriage thing that seems to squick out some).

...and there's an addition to spellcasting in this called RAGE, where you summon up some creatures to perform special attacks for you.
I really liked the concept of Rage since it forces you (somewhat at least) to keep fighting. Rage only accumulates when fighting and dissipates when idle.. Normally with an automatic replenishing mana pool I tend to slow down, continually making sure me and my army are at maximum strength.
Personal favorite Rage spell was the ice ball. It does have some attack value, but served me best as a defensive decoy, sparing my normal army from attacks, thus minimizing trips back and forth to castles on the other side of the world to replenish the better types of army.

WTF. Gog should seriously have some sort of "YOU HAVE TO BE THIS OLD TO RIDE" rule or something.

Why? Who would that benefit?

The problem with King's Bounty is that it uses Securom (at least, the original release does). After I got a new computer, it claimed that I didn't have the disc in my drive even when I did. I contacted Securom and they asked me to send - among other things - a scan of my receipt, which had been discarded long ago. So I can't play my legally-purchased game, and a crack causes frequent crashing. Sigh.

The Atari release uses a Securerom disc check afaik. The GOG version is 100% DRM-free, as all of their titles are.
