Jedi Outcast's single player campaign was bad. However, since the new lightsaber moves were fun, it long remained my favorite multiplayer game. Nowadays I've moved into Jedi Academy.

Navyhacker, I find it hilarious that you'd correct the spelling of "Knight" in that train-wreck of a sentence. That's like straightening the picture-frames after a buss has just crashed through your living-room wall. :p
on-topic: I thought all the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight games were great('cept for MOTS, which I haven't played).

MoTS was, well, much less of a game than Jedi Knight. Improvements in the engine, new weapons, and new force powers didn't do jack when the plot was poorly done. You jump around to different storylines at least twice in that game.

Yeah, I thought about correcting the rest, but.. Dunno, was rushing off to do stuff.

It's obvious to me, now, what happened.
Like all things in life, it's the details that are the most difficult. It's not getting the massive 10 tonne stone block into place, it's the fucking artisan, carving the bas-relief, that takes the most resources.
Bioware had the entire game laid out and ready to go, and was working on it. Lucasarts pulled funding if they did not meet a revised schedule. Bioware either told them, flat out, "Our reputation is worth more than that." Or they said, "We cannot meet that timeline."
Thus, it went to Obsidian. Who used bailing wire and duct tape to piece together what was already there. It's obvious in the subtitles to the dialogue, it's obvious in the gameplay bugs, it's obvious in the plot, it's obvious in the ending cinematics, it's obvious in past titles "produced" by Lucasarts.
So. Basically. Fuck George Lucas. I've been saying this since 1998, so I don't understand why in the fuck it's even an issue for me anymore. I thought KotOR1 was a good game, and it had it's follies, but certainly no more than Xwing or Rogue Squadron or Shadows of the Empire.
However, the gamplay is good enough that I will not microwave the disk. I will keep it. I might mess around with it, from time to time, a little bit. There's some neat parts to it, here and there.

KotOR 2 is like sex. Cold, painful desparation sex in a damp closet with a girl you'll never want to see again, who might possibly have died several hours ago.
Jedi Knight 2 is ten times the game KotOR2 wishes it could be. And I don't care that 99% of the world disagrees with me - you're all wrong :D
