I tried with the dark.gam (1,057.490 bytes)from the original install cd.
Although the patrolling guard still hears me bj'ing the other one, I would say the AI sensitivity is lower now. I can pick the door without alerting the guards upstairs.
This better be tested by someone else too.

ok, noted, I'll do some test myself when I have some time.

Tried this time with my old tg 1.38 install...
and a definite difference. The second guard didn't notice anything and kept walking.
Newdark or tfix problem?
When I have the time I'll have to do a third TG install and simply patch it with nd.

no surprise there - as mentioned many time before, we are running T1 maps in the T2 engine, there is just no way things would work exactly the same. the questions here are: is the TFix modified gamesys making it worse? is using the old, classic gamesys with a NewDark (or TFix) patched install making it better?

ok, test done.
It's NG.
Can the increased sensitivity lowered by modifying the gamesys (dark.gam)?

NG? I assume you mean ND (NewDark). that's actually good news, the prospect of redoing the gamesys in olddark was not something I was looking forward to.
as for whether this can be fixed or not, I would carefully answer that it probably can be fixed, but not with my current skillset. time will tell.

It's newdark of course (After my cat decided to jump on my lap and my keyboard decided to taste my coffee, I have some typing problems)
