taffedinthehead - a very good strategy - one of the earliest ideas for the series in fact, and tested on a number of occasions. I've looked over the programming and can't see a way that this should or could happen - not to say that it didn't!
On expert, when Franny is killed, the "no gas or bash" objective is cancelled - there are two sorts of red marks, one for cancelled, one for failed. I'm not sure which you're seeing. Being cancelled is what it should be. The same event that triggered the "objective complete" and music should have also checked off the "Franny must die" goal - this did not happen for you. The process is the same no matter how he is killed and there's nothing unique about him being killed with a stray arrow or any other non-culpable accident. So I'm guessing the game engine fumbled the ball.
If you can go back to a previous save, it should work - since I see this as some sort of engine timing issue where it didn't finish checking off objectives before some other process stomped on it. If you can't go back, then at least know that your strategy is a good one, and just CNTL-SHFT-ALT-End to continue.

Thanks for the reply, Frob - I kept playing anyway, and once I finished the Keeper Safe House objective, the Fran must die objective checked off with it and the level ended as it should - no worries.
By the way, just finished the entire thing . . . WOW!!! Hope you aren't getting a big head, but this mother's AWESOME! Not only were the level each interesting and fun, but the overall mission was one of the tightest, cohesive, and intriguing I've ever played! It certainly stands its own with the great levels out there, and even the original two games in terms of cinematic quality. It's the closest thing to a professional Thief game I've played - (this and T2X). Personal Favorite: Oracle of the Prophets! Loved the custom monsters - very H.P. Lovecraft!
Congrats to a great level, and I do hope you're getting a big head, cause you earned it!

Is there a download location that actually works?
Maybe I am too late for this or something.

I have all the objectives except I seem to be the only person in the world who hasn't located the Keeper's safe house. Yes, even three years later (I'm a little behind in missions, I didn't play for a couple of years).
Apparently, I'll still be playing this one in a couple of years due to my inability to find that damn house. Anyone seen it lately??

P.S. I never had time to find the secret Keeper hideout.

Worse yet, the answer was already in the thread! (I read the whole thing before I started the later missions, I guess I had sensory overload. At least that sounds like a good excuse.)
Beautiful mission, great design. Not sure if I can go back right away and play more, but I hope you can take some gratification knowing that all that work will always be fresh to someone!!
