Reversing the Order is a very tricky mission. The sequence of events varies with Difficulty and once the AI are on the move it is impossible to predict what will happen, which is why I didn't write a walkthrough. For example, there are two possible exits from the pub that Alisha may take. I would recommend you get in there just before 10, hide in a corner and watch and wait. I use a lot of saves and quicksaves when playing this one. Every time is different.
Check (
http://www.thiefmissions.com/hints/KeeperOfTheProphesies5-9.html) the hints, and good luck. If you can get through this mission in Expert you are truly an expert taffer!
I did check the hints - that's why I knew to be outside the pub just before 10! But she never went in, does the FM have her ENTER from the rear? And then there's those two guards - ran out of the front ( twice, I reloaded and moved to just outside the door and never saw her!) definitely chasing someone, but there was no one! :weird:
(ffox - are you "Freddy Fox"?)NVM - I see that you are! Thanx for the hints and walkthrus! :thumb:
Okay, went IN the pub this time, no Lish again! And there they are - two guards, into pub from the rear, out of pub in the front, chasing Sue Richards again! :erg:
Well, I just went on anyways, and lo and behold - she was there for the "running-of-the-assassins"! :cheeky:
DONE! And another really cool one F man! :thumb::thumb:
I've always seen that organization as self-serving - which is par for the course in any secret society. Power is what the Keepers are about - not protecting other people, which they do only for their own reasons. Just my take. Ignore if you wish.
I disagree! After all, those who value power over all else ALWAYS are seen using it against those who don't have power.
The Keepers, at their heart, are a group that are SO obsessed with "keeping" the balance, that they are terrified into utter inactivity when it comes to actually doing anything one way or the other!
There are exceptions though, usually involving just a single Keeper (and then all the sure to come repercussions about THAT!) or on occasion the Keeper council as a whole, but those decisions invariably are to just slap Garrett upside the taffin head with HIS need to act! :p

Please let me know (via posting here on the ttlg forums, private message, or email) about bugs or other oddities you think should be addressed in the final draft of any KotP mission.
Thanks!
Um, Kinda hard to pm a guy who has disabled pm's to him! :tsktsk:

@ metal dawn
Indeed.
She played out the hand she was dealt. But I never saw her as particularly evil. Just corrupted by desparate circumstances.
I agree with "But I never saw her as particularly evil. Just corrupted by desparate circumstances."
BUT, she was an idiot! She
did'nt have to play THAT hand! I don't know if she would have had time to halt the attack, but maybe if there was a complex wide PA system, she then could have turned it to max volume and announced something to the effect of "Stop the attack. My father is dead, and along with him I have decreed that his policies are dead too! From hence forth the company shall be run humanely and reparations for the past shall be made. I urge you to let the company continue so that some good can come out of this for the future rather than just ending it all here and now in an empty victory!"
She could then turn to Garrett and ask him to join her in leading the company to a better future, maybe even phasing out the torture biz in favor of a more positve industry! Heck, with his Keeper based knowledge of Precusor tech, and Hammer tech, and Mechanist tech, the company could outdo everyone else!
But like I said, DUMB BROAD!
------------------------------------
That said, now on to what I felt about the attack and the ending:
The attack - I was shouting "BRING IT DOWN" through the whole thing! :ebil:
Freakin awesome Frobber!
The end - just...just...just...
oh my god, I am cryin! cryin and mumbling "yes yes yes yes yes yes yes" - i have NEVER been moved by ANYTHING in ANY game EVER - til that!
Saving an entire world, that's de riguer, but to save a single child from dying before she has even lived - that just has a stronger poignancy for some reason. Maybe because it's a more personal type of thing, the human mind just can't make that close a connection with a concept of billions of people as it can with a single innocent life.
Oh, and that end music too! Beautiful all on it's own, but in conjunction with what's happening then, and what has recently happened (or would have if not for the big G!), it adds a nuclear bomb of emotional POWER to the scene!
(also, I take it that Jenny was your daughter frobber? That's what I got from your explanation. Having known that, it made that end all the more touching to me! Boy, can RL SUCK! :(
You were an awesome dad man! You make me wish I had had a little girl to have told bedtime stories to like that!
Yes, she would'nt have just loved this adventure, she would have adored it! You would have been like a god to her then, a maker of wonders!)  :thumb:

I know exactly the feeling you're describing there: I had the same thing when I finished it some days ago - that ending makes me wonder why this campaign isn't STRONGLY recommended: I haven't seen the name that often. Gonna change that though - planning on reviewing it very soon.

Way way way more than worth the blood and sweat to get THOSE tears!
I was'nt sure what G was doing at first, but then I saw the Mortuary and went "Yay, he's returning Judy!" Though I had no idea what the scroll was for, and for some dumb reason (because I usually am a whiz at extrapolation!) I never made the connection that his daughter would still be alive then, so it had that surprise power on top of the wonderful emotion of his warning daddy!
And of course his passing them on the street, from leaving the mortuary, and they were going opposite way (back to home), made me think of G thinking "Now, mortitian, you just keep her that way"!
(though I think the best would have been (if the engine could allow for it of course) for it to have been like the next day and Megatfree clasped G on the shoulder and nodded his head just one time! sooo cool!) :cheeky:

Thanks for the shout-out.
Amazing after 7 years that this is still being played, with so much FM design quality progress since that time.

Well done Frobber, I'm astonished at how much you accomplished with the rickety 1.18 engine! :thumb:

I have to add my voice here also, as I too for some reason never played KotP until now...and I have been through most of the "older" ones...(maybe because through various posts in here -not relevant to the KotP- I got the idea that it was a hard one, which IS true)...any way.... the effort and work you put is more than visible... all this action, timing, dialogs, buildings, story, is like an interacting movie, feels like "it is happening" while you play... it is realy epic .I am not finished yet, but I am realy almost speechless... and I will not complain about the size and the runing and runing and runing around in the first part...:p You are a really inspired person!!!!! Thank you.. :)

I'm having a problem with this mission pack that I never had before. In Hallucinations, in the river near Garrett's apartment, there's a roof texture instead of the ice texture that was always there. It might be related to either the NewDark engine or the enhancement pack (or both), but I've never had this problem before.
Addendum: It must be with the texture pack, because when I turned it off, the ice was back. Any workaround?

It´s an old thread but after having played through this mission pack I can only take my hat off to frobber.
There´s not really a lot to add regarding all these posts, but I never felt so deeply moved in a video game as in the scene where Garrett is told that he saved a child´s life.
Storywise ( and not only because of this ) this missions pack belongs to the hall of fame of fan missions.
Thank you very much frobber.
