I was playing Thief: DS, and for the first time I noticed that there is Kurshok locked up in a cell in Stone Market Proper. In the cell you can find a map of the Sunken Citadel. This was the very first time you go to the area, by the way. I picked the lock and he ran out, and I assume was cut down by guards, but I didn't see. Does anyone know of any other hidden little things like this?

Gravid tends to be rather swift and usually only dies when you follow him so he can't teleport away before the guards get him (otherwise you would have found a corpse, I guess).
What about the fake Garrett adventure, the wounded guard talks or the reference to the Cetus Amicus in the docks?

It's been a while since I've played DS, but I thought this was just part of the game and not a 'hidden thing'. I guess it's not a particular objective or anything, though.
And I did enjoy the reference to Cetus Amicus at the docks. Also Benny and friend were great.

About the "side-quest" with that guy posing as Garrett: Can this side-mission be completed when it's first available or do you need access to the other districts first? What armory are they talking about?
Cronkhite on 13/3/2007 at 21:38
Hm, I think it can be completed immediately.

Cothron's armory can be found in Stonemarket, not far from where you receive Artemus' letter. The door is open and Scully, the fake masterthief, is walking up and down inside searching for the dagger. Cothron keeps the weapon not, as Brent suggested, in the safe downstairs but in a chest behind himself in his bedroom - Scully will never find out.

Yeah, I listened to the fake Garrett. Does anything else ever happen with that? I always stab him as soon as he gets out the door. Nobody impersonates me. Did I miss anything? I do get the dagger and get put it in the cathedral box and get paid, however. And what's this about a wounded guard?

I always thought it worked with the golden dagger from the Kurshok Citadell. And I'm almost sure it worked some weeks ago, when I was playing TDS with the Minimalist Project.
Concerning "little hidden things"; there are the side quests with that jewel store in Auldale and the corps inside the Dock's tavern that has to be thrown into the sea.

The whole point of the series, it seems. Although since we're talking DS, it doesn't really matter. If you leave the fake-Garrett breathing, he opens up a locked safe in the armory. It contains only a few coins, and you'll find that it is then magically unlocked for you on each subsequent day. Kill fake-Garrett, and you'll always have to pick it.
