The Japanese wii version of La-Mulana has finally been released in English for Windows PCs! I just spent an hour playing it and it's pretty great so far. (

I really enjoyed the old free version of the game although my biggest problem with it was it was pretty hard - some of the puzzles were fairly obtuse. Supposedly this new version makes things slightly less difficult. I'm having a lot of fun so far!

Looks like a classic 2D jump an run? Is there more to it? (Can't see the videos at work.)

It is classic run & jump platforming. There are a lot of hidden things strewn around, messages to read, little puzzles to do, and you can have an inventory of objects to use on things, which gives it a bit of an RPG flavor like Cave Story.

It's a "Metroidvania," so lots of items to collect in a big non-linear world. There are tons of puzzles and riddles which are actually a bit hard to solve.
I'm about 2 hours in and really liking it. It's mostly the same as the original but it controls a bit better and the inventory management stuff is way improved (not to mention the graphics, although I liked the retro style of the original game a lot too).
By the way, if you're running Windows 7 or Vista you have to run the game with Administrative privileges or else it will hang :erg:.
