Man, check out those smirks and frowns and gulps! The lips and the mouths sometimes don't look right, but that's the harshest criticism I can put against it.

Animation's impressive. In fact it's so impressive that it kinda triggered a bit of an uncanny valley reaction from me when superimposed over some of the lower quality textures and some of the more blatantly low-poly parts of meshes. Hopefully most of these are still WIP placeholders.

One of the pitfalls of targeting hardware platforms with only ~512MB RAM to play with, unfortunately.

Good, I was worried this would be a Quantic Dream-esque, QTE-fest. (Not that there's anything wrong with that, it just wouldn't be my first choice.)
Also, holy Uncanny Valley, Batman!

Nice Video!
Noticed they have the same GTA map thing in the corner, figures... (Not that it is a bad thing though.)

Hey, it ain't that deep in the valley. Usually I'm put off by weird eye movements, and strange mouth tics (those early Heavy Rain videos were huge offenders here), but considering the animations were captured from real live honest to god human beings, it's about as close to perfectly natural as you can get with current technology.
If the gameplay is as smart and deep as they're claiming, this will be one helluva fun game.

By Uncanny Valley, I meant the contrast between the ultra-realistic facial animations and well, everything else really. Others in the thread have touched on this:- The floaty physics heads, the low res textures, the generally quite dated graphics.

Every time someone says Uncanny Valley I get the feeling they just like throwing the phrase around to look clever. "some parts of the game look more realistic than other ergo vis a vis UNCANNEY VALLEY! :smarteypants:"
Anyway, as for the game; the gameplay, at least the actiony bits, look exactly like GTA4. And I am more than fine with that.

Fuck off. That's my honest opinion of how the characters look in the game footage thus far. I'm not trying to gain "street cred" with some of the pseudo-intellectual faggots here. If you have nothing to add to the discussion other than ad hominem, then just piss off.
