Yeah, I just saw that. And I actually sent the ad in to RPS, for a laugh.
LucasArts is denying it. But then, Rockstar denied GTA IV on the PC as well, for a long time.

Yes, but there is a difference between "no comment" and "hell, no."

BioWare was giving 'hell no' responses about Mass Effect PC, right up to the point they announced it.

Honestly, you aren't missing out on much. FU is just a weak Devil May Cry clone with a lot of gimmicks. A bargain bin game at best.

Cite source, please; it really isn't that I don't believe you, but I am skeptical.

Damn, just look around on GameSpot in their Mass Effect section. They archive ALL of the related news and previews.

PS. While fair enough that you did ask, I hate you for that, not just because I had to venture into the intellectual ebola which is the BioBoards but because those evil bastards turn the search function for their forums off for posts more than 6 months old so I had the great joy of trying to find a suitable post using google's site function and the phrase "February 2008". I did not enjoy the experience.

Hey, Mass Effect is currently an Xbox 360 exclusive.
That really isn't a "hell, no" response, though. It has been known for years now that developers and publishers do not consider the PC to be a "next gen platform"; so when they say it's an exclusive, they mean that it is exclusive within the realm of consoles. I know it is counterintuitive, but this has been standard practice since the release of the original Halo in 2001. That's the first case where I can remember that all sorts of FAQs had to be made in order to clear up all the exclusive talk coming out of marketing.

YMMV of course, but in context (being asked about the possibility of a PC port a week prior to said port's announcement, with it being locked as with every other thread asking about a PC version) that's a whole lot closer to a "hell no" from LA than a "no comment", and the more verbose version from their resident PR monkey which was in the FAQ..

Mass Effect is planned as an Xbox 360 exclusive title.
This means we are not working on a PC version and have no plans to start making one...versus

..I can tell you definitively that there is no PC version of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed planned..
..uses almost exactly the same wording as the LA statement
and knocks the exclusivity argument on the head.

It's assumed that if there is no PC version, PC gamers will buy it on the console of their choice. If a PC version comes out later, everyone who bought the console version will also buy the PC version. The "will wait for the PC version" demographic is not supposed to exist. That's the assumption.
Whereas consoles are seen as rivals with a loyal fanbase, PC users are not seen that way. Not like Mac users are.
Those are my observations. I do not agree that any of the above is right.
