Hmmm, could you get the lightgem stuff working in SS2?

You probably couldn't get a lightgem working easily, however it is quite easy to attach things to the player's view in SS2, maybe you had a custom script that read the player's visibility value (I know for sure it's a property somewhere) and do some "from visibility 1 to 20" set light gem attachment model to lightgem_dark kinda stuff it might work.
I don't know, there's a lot to be done, there's no unconsciousness for starters, but with the solid script support we've been seeing for SS2 lately I think it could be possible to pull off. There's no doubt that it would be all kinds of awesome, yes, even now.

You don't need a hex editor to see references to multiplayer. The casually observant DromEdder can view the object list and see Player1, Player2, Player3, etc object models under a network category (ca'nt remember exactly).
I placed them in the game, they all seemed to be the garret model but with a wierd random texture on them.

perhaps, as opposed to using a mod-kit for a different game, you could (if there is one well-developed enough out there)use a mod-kit for T2/TG/TDP and script up random starting points for something like DromEd and also an option in the main menu to start a LAN game --with a list of maps created specifically for LAN--, and then, of course, create some maps for multiplayer mode and place the random starting points anywhere on the map. Also, you could try to develop a script that would display the player's name above thier character model, kinda like BF:Vietnam. If some of you guys can give me some suggestions of some good T2 dev-kits, I could take a crack at it, who knows, I might be able to crack it and make a successful LAN mod for T2 (i specify T2 because i dont have TG/TDP..cant find em anywhere).
NOTE:
If i dont respond for quite a while, it will be because i dont have the internet at home, ive been utilizing the internet at school...which can make things REALLY slow, so bear with me, my friends.:thumb:

You're naive to the point where it's painful. Implementing multiplayer is much more than that, and we don't have any dev kits or SDKs. Remember the Thief 2 development team failed at this, and they had many a source code on their side.

Yeah, there is no such thing as a dev kit in terms of the thief series./ There is just DromEd. I don't know where you got that idea from.
