I got a sudden feeling of nostalgia and bought Metal Gear Solid 1 for the PS1 and Project Zero 1(aka. Fatal Frame). Big fan of MGS and thankfully I still have my non-slim PS2 to play it, although I'm not sure about saves. Would I need a PS1 memory card for the game to save or not? Perhaps someone here can tell me. I've never actually played the full game of Project Zero(just the demo) and I fell in love with it, possibly one of the few games I found scary(kinda like the Cradle) but with invisible ghost enemies and you don't have weapons(except for an old camera which can hurt ghosts and you can see them through it).

For PS1 back compat on PS2? You most definitely require a PS1 memory card. This isn't the case with PS3 and PSP though.

Yep, you'll need a PS1 card to save your game on. Or, failing that, you could just emulate it on your PC and connect a gamepad to play. It's fairly non-irritating to emulate PSX games these days.

Yes, they are capable of looking a lot cleaner. I just wish there was a way for the emulators to get rid of that texture warping crap that PS1 was so famous for. Hell, you can even see bit of it in your Silent Hill shot.

I had a WTF moment recently when I discovered that I could play Megaman X4 (my original copy is long lost) on ePSXe. The WTF stemmed from the fact that PSX emulation has long been a source of frustration for me, and so after ignoring it for many years I nearly shit myself seeing how far it's come.
All I have to do now is get Megaman 9 and I'd be able to have a marathon.
Also- the "PC version" of Silent Hill 1 you can find on various torrent sites is a tweaked ePSXe emulator with one majour flaw- it uses the gimped European version that is not only harder but also less scary. I'm not sure if you can swap out the ISO with a Yank version... will have to experiment.

This is ironic since the development of ePSXe had been pretty much stone dead since 2003, when one of the authors supposedly lost the source code in a HDD crash.
They only just released a new version last year. Maybe the authors reverse engineered the code or rewrote massive chunks of an old version of the source until it was stage they had previously reached?
More likely computers have just gotten faster/more powerful since you last tried.

Killing floor, great co-op horror game. Been a fan since the UT2004 mod.
Sims3. Fun to rolepay, i'm playing a crazy homeless person right now (he spent all his money on buying these large trash containers instead of a house, and a bed ;) ).
Arma2. Haven't started playing.
Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri Complete. I've finally gotten around buying this game, seems great.

Stop advertising that awful game. The fact that it made it to commercial status is proof against the existence of a just and loving god.

lol, advertising, when did i do this? The reviews has been pretty good so i don't need to do that anyways + most people i've seen on different forums seems to like it, even the old mod had many fans too, i never had any difficulties finding a game.. I dont get what you have against it, some quarrel with somone involved in the mod or what? I think it's better than L4D, it just need a couple of more maps.. Maybe it's just not your genre, if it is then name a co-op surival zombie game that you like??
