I had Echo Night on PS1 and Echo Night Beyond for PS2 years ago. Very interesting games. Beyond is pretty freaky, as well.
I've never played the first one (never had a PS1). I heard good things about ENB though, and having just purchased a PS2 decided to snag a used copy. Will I be missing anything by not having played the first (story-wise)?

Just finished STALKER. first time I did so, I cheated at the end because I was getting extremely fed up with Chernobyl; this time I didn't resort to cheats, which definitely makes it feel more like an accomplishment. :-) I'll hang around the zone for a bit, though, since I want to explore Pripyat - hopefully in the rain, because Pripyat on a sunny day is just too cheerful! :p
I'm still playing Cold War Rearmed, but I've now also installed Mirror's Edge. It's definitely not a perfect game, but it has its charms. It's annoying, though, that with PhysX activated it slows down to a crawl as soon as there's any breaking glass, in spite of my pretty quick video card.

Also- the "PC version" of Silent Hill 1 you can find on various torrent sites is a tweaked ePSXe emulator with one majour flaw- it uses the gimped European version that is not only harder but also less scary. I'm not sure if you can swap out the ISO with a Yank version... will have to experiment.
You can.

lol, advertising, when did i do this?
Dude, you practically fellate it every chance you get.
My problem with the game (aside from Alex Quick being a horrible douchebag who should be hit by a car) stems from the fact that its gameplay is uninspired and unbalanced. I'm sorry, but carrying a
pistol- a pistol for fuck's sake!- should not slow me down, much less slow me down to the point where
I can't run.
And we all know that you live near an airport when it comes to Left4Dead.

So do you apparently, by playing the
botmatchesSingle player exclusively.

Except I have valid reasons for that. If you actually knew how to read posts you'd know that.

Prove it then. If i remember correctly i made a post about the KF mod in the thread about UT2004 mods, this must have been more than a year ago, and you directly stepped in, started the same whining that the mod sucked. Later on it came up that you had something against someone who worked with the mod, lol. I'm sorry, but that doesnt make you very thrustworthy, and that you fail to see this is, well, kind of funny.

The game sucks because it has typical arcade gameplay, that you can run quicker with the knife than with the gun? You totally don't get the concept behind the game, it's not a simulator, not trying to be.
I find the levels really inspiring and balanced, i doubt you played the latest version of the mod or that you have tried the game.
I live near an airport? I have no idea what this even is supposed to mean.

How about, oh I don't know, try building reliable contacts on your friends list and then playing with them?
I have no trouble at all finding non-griefers, non-rambos, etc. on Oceania pubs. But I guess the unwritten law of "Americans are arseholes" is in effect, so I suppose it's not totally under your control. Have you tried Canadian servers?

You missed the point that L4D is designed for
4-player.
