I finally bought a real masterpiece: Fallout collection (Fallout 1, 2 and tactics). Playing now Fallout 1 with Albert since I like more charismatic character than real killing machine. Hard to say which Fallout is best since I have so far played only 1 and 3 (3 was my first Fallout-game).

Albert is okay but you're going to wish you'd built a diplosniper character.

Hey, I just bought that as well.
It seems to be a simple installer with little documentation. Any mods or patches I need before playing?

Check (
http://www.nma-fallout.com) here for patches and whatnot.
As for the last game I bought, that would have to be
Red Faction: Guerrilla.

Midwich Elementary - the ghost children with knives were replaced with the bear things that hump your legs. That's all that I know, aside from the game naturally running slightly slower because it's 50Hz PAL.
Oh ok, i just read on wikipedia (so dunno how correct it is) that even in the ntsc:u version they were changed from what was in the intended ntsc:j version, due to censorship?
mind you - how hard would it be to "romhack" it in?
Also i heard something about some alyssa document only being in pal versions.

While there might be a translation project of the Jap version you're better off just getting the US version unless you can read Japanese.
Personally I've seen the original version of the little knife-weilding shit, and IMO it's scarier in the US version. Either way, avoid the EU version.
I don't know anything about the additional document though.

Is that creature the only difference between the us and jap versions? As if so, it seems a remarkable amount of effort translating it just for that. Surely they could just drop in the model / skin / animation of the japanese one into the us game (especially if it is just a skin). Wow.
edit - also about the article: (

It's not really just a skin, though, it's a whole different model. The Jap version is a little bigger/thicker.
And you forget, console games aren't like PC games. You can't just "drop the model in".
inselaffe on 24/6/2009 at 18:05
Well yes, obviously I am not familiar with how console games can be edited, but i know at least old 2d games can be "romhacked" to do things like that so i assumed it would be at least possible although wasn't sure how hard it would be.
By bigger / thicker i assume you are referring to readables and suchlike.

Point Lookout—looks like Fallout meets Deliverance meets left 4 dead. Last time you got an auto-axe, now you get a manual axe, and a big shotgun. And a swamp wasteland to explore. I never bought the Alaska pack, but otherwise Bethesda's done me right as far as DLC goes, so I'm expecting good things.
