Last gig: Morrissey at the Roundhouse - pretty damn awesome, the guy really knows how to put on a show after about 25 years in the business, and he's still got it. A nice mix of the new and the old, and some touching onstage waffle -
M: "Has anyone seen a little show called Honest?"
Crowd: "No!"
M: "No one's seen it?"
Crowd: "No!"
M: "In that case I'll shut up."
And luckily we caught him on a night where he actually did a whole set. The support, Girl in a Coma, were pretty awful.
Next gig: my own band The Debt Offensive at a pub called the Miller. Amazing. Techinically my last gig was also TDO but I wanted to write about Mozzer.
My next gig as an audience member will probably be Radiohead in London this June. Looking forward to that.

No one going to any gigs these days?
last gig
Broken Social Scene and Stars last night. It's not often you have a stellar support band and headliner but tonight these guys were in fine form supporting one another and the biggest disappointment was the venue having a strict midnight music shutdown when the bands were feeding off of each other and quite happy to keep playing past 1am. It was the first time they'd been on stage together in a long time and the ties of friendship were apparent in the passionate/emotional back and forths they have on stage. I then did the good deed and bought all their back catalogues of albums (or as much as I could afford with the only cash I had on me). Fantastic night.
next gig
I've got tickets for Air in their first Australian tour on March 31st, but I'm thinking I might get out to another gig before then. I missed Explosions in the Sky two weeks ago, which is a shame, but it seems a lot of my favourite bands are finally getting down under for their tour stretches.

Final Fantasy, 6 Organs of Admittance, Dirty Projectors, some other people
About an hour ago. Dirty Projectors are fucking ace - they sound like.. I'm not really sure, to be honest. Their latest is an album of black flag covers, which they do in their harmonic, flamenco-picky and suprisingly heavy sound. 6 organs of admittance were fucking terrible. They just sat there making the same fucking droning noise for half and hour and put everyone in a bad mood. Fat bastards didn't even get off their chairs. Final Fantasy was awesome, always is awesome, did some new songs that were pretty good. I never noticed how much he sounds like Kermit the frog when he speaks before either.
Next gig: Symphony X
On thursday. Dunno much about these guys, I'm going with a friend. I gather they're some kind of incredibly over the top geek metal with extra keyboards and maybe lasers? should be a laugh.
Scots, some friends of mine went to that explosions gig, sounds like you missed out. They said it was incredible. Don't suppose you snagged tickets to the ATP their doing did you?

ATP looks like it's in the UK.
That might be difficult.
I am
very disappointed about missing them though.

Last:
Nightwish in Ft. Lauderdale.
Kinda sucky now without Tarja, the new girl is terrible. It was tolerable at least when they sang new stuff but when she tried to sing Wishmaster I was cringing.
Next:
Well there are 4 concerts coming up in March and I'm not sure which one is first so here's the list:
The Mars Volta in Orlando is the soonest.
Radiohead is after that in Ft. Lauderdale I think.
MSI sometime in March also, and again also in Ft. Lauderdale I think... I really should check.
Opeth is playing right here in Miami on the same night as my anniversary with my better half! She's into them too so we're using the concert as our celebration.
