Hardly reliable source, though entirely plausible scenario:
Quote:
What the next step will be in the DRM, the ramp-up, is gameplay code that is run from the server. So in order to crack that one the pirates will have to fully emulate the server side code. Not the whole of the gameplay code mind you, just a small, but necessary and essential, portion. This should be in effect for the coming summer releases.

i thought they would do this from the getgo.
and yeah, you can't "fully" compare DA to Conviction. I played both on PC, DA crashed constantly and in my opinion the parts which you can compare - the stealthy ones - do fare better in conviction even though in conviction are very, very few real good stealth levels. the first SC and chaos are still the best imo.
and what last-gen version are you talking ? only one version on pc.

The xbox/ps2 version of DA is the last-gen version. Superior to the PC/X360 in my (and many others') opinion.

Don't forget the GameCube!
And yeah, this is precisely what I was referring to. To be fair, mothra is allergic to consoles (and Godzilla :)) and gets a pass on not knowing this.

mothra, with few exceptions, is allergic to good games.

LOL, I love it. That is great. Crackers are heroes in this case, I guess!!!
When are crackers not a good thing? Any examples?

Yeah. When you put Marmite on them.

Glad someone thought of this - basic economics, you just follow the demand curve down. It begs the argument - why aren't games
more expensive?
Because of that other contributor to sales-- positive word-of-mouth. The more the better.

Great news, they've patched in an Offline Mode into
Silent Hunter 5's Uplay launcher.

So now SH5 should be fully playable offline.
As for the game still being still unpolished after being rushed to market, I was recommended this mod on another forum. Probably the next best thing to an unofficial patch (there doesn't seem to be such a project).
