I finally found thief 2 again after several million years, which means I get to check out t2x at long last. Anyway, I'm playing through the second mission, the long tedious warehouse one, and I discover the oddest thing. I don't know if this has been covered before, but why do the hammers, whose whole religion is based on building stuff, commission some random guy in a warehouse to make their weapons for them? What the hell are they using their foundries for anyway?

Thanks Nicked. You're right, I'm too friggin' tired.:D
Don't mind me.
Sorry CrackedGear.:o :laff:
Okay. My best spur-of-the-moment guess would be that before the Mechanist movement really began building up steam, the Hammers were more busy building, crafting, repairing, and maintaining than pounding people. Or, they were so busy pounding people, like Pagans, they needed more hammers than they would take time to forge, because they were otherwise pretty busy building, crafting, repairing, and maintaining. But yeah, there is laziness among the Hammerite ranks, even in TDP/Gold, as the players may hear once in awhile. Tarius bought that crappy knife from the Shemenovs and it broke on him during dinner. There are the complaints about the novices not showing an interest in honest craft, etc. All signs that the Order was stagnating, making Karras' movement much more appealing.

Tedious warehouse mission? It's one of the best. So Much to explore, plus a pirate ship.
and one of the best ambient tracks Brosius made.
