How good the player base is seems to vary quite drastically. dethtoll seems to have unfortunately never been able to find anyone other than complete tards but over here in NZ/Oz it's pretty good. Sure you get your occasional idiot but when you're playing on expert they never hang around for long anyway. Of course it seems that you're more interested in playing with people you know, Ducky? Maybe I'm weird but my best L4D experiences have been with total strangers. You start out a little bit wary of each other but by the end you've really bonded and become a good team; much like what happens in a zombie film. :D With friends it's more of a laugh.

+1 for the Oz/Nz player base. Played it on the 360 once, ended up in an american game, first words I hear are "only 4 left 4 dead achievements? Fucking noob". Instakicked.
Yes, they actually went into my gamer card just to see how many achievements I had for l4d (because that obviously equals quality rite guise)

To disable the intro movie, type -novid in properties/general tab/set launch options. Still get the endgame movie and the damn stuttering. Might be able to kill that too, not sure.
Thanks for answers about the witch. Still gettin 'tards who shoot her on purpose, then whole team gets massacred. Absolute hell on expert. ;)
Check this, play as infected. (

anybody played the demo for l4d2 yet? I thought it was only for pre-orders but I found it on a random steam search and dloaded it. Something about it feels..... off.
EDIT: reading previous posts is a good thing . I see there are a few people who have played it.

yeah...
(The demo was released november 3rd, I believe, to non-pre-order consumers.)

Okay.

the movement is a little... sloppy, or at least it feels that way. like you let go of the forward key and you kind of skid to a stop rather than just stop. and the submachine guns seem to be a lot more spray-and-pray than it was in l4d1.
The gore effects are freaking awesome though. and the muzzleflashes are an interesting touch.
Taffer36 on 9/11/2009 at 01:39
As far as I know, the movement is the same as in the first game... or the same as every other Valve game. I'm not sure why they think it's a good system to have the player SLIIIIIIIIDE after trying to stop, but I even remember it in Dark Messiah.
I must be getting used to it after all these games, though, because I haven't really noticed it very much in either Left 4 Dead game.

Still looking forward to playing this one, in no small part because its set in the town where I grew up.
