Yep, I've played it twice already today. Once as campaign, and another in versus. Pretty much the same old dead air, but there are a few things changed. For one, you have to go through the metal detecter in map 4.

I haven't really noticed a problem with L4D2's bots, but on the other hand when I play SP I exclusively play on normal.

I play on normal too.
My recollection of the major issue is that all of the NPCs would consistently lag behind me, and much too far behind at that.
At times the requirement was to run like hell, and really only fight to clear the path ahead, but not only did I HAVE to take point all of the time in order for anyone to make any progress at all, but the NPCs would be so far behind (and/or caught up in irrelevant fights) that I didn't actually have any support for clearing the path.
I'm sure with online games in those situations you would have most of the team working together at the front, but the bots never came anywhere close to achieving that. So basically the game punishes you for doing things on your own, but also refuses to provide any help.
A couple of good examples I can remember were delivering the beer from the shop, and running along the rollercoaster. Do the NPCs stay up front with you in those situations? If so, I'll definitely get back into it.

The roller coaster is hell with or without bots (I honestly hate Dark Carnival entirely), but they never seem to have trouble with the cola run. Granted, it's much shorter.

I don't remember NPCs lagging behind you a lot. They obviously can only follow you, but it was never a problem on Normal. In gauntlet crescendos(infinite infected) just move more slowly and they'll stay right behind you. You can also herd them a bit using the "follow me" command.
Biggest problem with AI is that it doesn't change at all with difficulties and their (

They turned the end of map 4 into a gauntlet. A very short one, but an insanely hectic one. We weren't expecting that.
Much of the campaign is unchanged, save for crescendo points like in the sewer or at the church which saw a few minor structural differences, namely in the name of making it easier for people to fall off during the former and more ways for infected to get in during the latter. The river house did not go unscathed, either, with the empty corner hero closet removed (said closet's now under the stairs) and all the weapons and equipment on the deck out back.
All in all a very pleasing addition; this is my favourite campaign from the original game and I'm glad to see it finally ported over.
I'll still prefer the original game for solo playthroughs but when I wanna sit down and play just a campaign or two with friends I don't have an issue sticking with L4D2.

I played a versus game of it the other night, and my entire team got wiped out on the first map near the tunnel entrance because a tank hit all the cars and incapped us. Good times?:p
But yeah, the new crescendo with the forklift really makes it feel more intense, since you can't camp in that area anymore.

Just did a playthrough (on advanced realistic) with 2 buddies and a random dude who kept pissing the witch off for some reason. From the forklift bit until the safehouse, there were an incredible amount of hordes and almost no lulls - enough to kill some/all of us multiple times. The final kill count for the whole campaign was like 4258. Did the AI director just take a disliking to us specifically, or did any of you get this too?
