This is a REALLY fun game. But here's the thing: you have to play on the highest difficulty. The first game I played was on normal, and it was OK. The second game I played was on Advanced or whatever, and it was really good. Then I played on the hardest, and that's when the survivors really have to work together and communicate really well. The zombies are a lot harder and scarier because you can't take too many hits (like, on normal? the normal zombies do like no damage). And you'll die a lot but I think that's even more fun because then you have to go through the level again and try to learn from your mistakes, and the zombies won't be in the same places either so it doesn't even get repetitive.
I've never used a microphone/headset before for gaming but I think I'll have to get one for this.
Was it worth 50 dollars? I dunno yet... actually I think it's a little steep, but if they add additional [free] content like they are for Team Fortress 2, then I think it will.

I heard about a guy who plays online regularly and joined L4D always as a black guy then runs headlong into zombies and dies as soon as the game starts.
That's dedication to cliche.

I agree that on hardest, the game is a blast. The biggest difference seems to be that the director spawns big, alerted swarms just for the hell of it, instead of just when you get Boomer'd or set off a car alarm.

expert uses more "special" zombies than hard. that's what makes it fun but also very frustrating when you are the last man/woman standing, could revive 2 of your buddies but KNOW FOR SURE that you will get snatched by a hunter/smoker whatever IF you try to rescue them. that's how mean the AI director is !!!! that bad, bad boy.
