Patreon, anyone?
It's not against the law to donate, is it?

We have our jobs & careers to pay our bills, here we have the gratitude from our fans and players and that should be all that's needed.
If you suddenly introduced money into the swing there could be issues with creative commons material that's been used, upsetting the Eidos overlords, authors and content creators with previously released work missing out, on top of that money can bring greed and other nasty qualities out of people that would have not been there otherwise.
To put it simply money tends to muddle things up with community driven efforts.

Not all of us have jobs.

Disagree. Money is just an abstraction. People muddle all the things themselves. But the cause may be money, prizes, glory, envy or nothing.

I dont want money for creating FMs i have create over 10 FMs for the People. It is a hobby and i create in Future more FMs for the Fans. To see how many peoples play my FMs is enough money for me. :)
Cheers T.

And I would want, but as long as it's not possible, it means nothing for me. It won't prevent me from doing anything, as well as money won't make.
Back to work.

If the mindset going in was one to achieve profit it would be a different thing as people would offer up work and collaborate with each other with the understanding that money is to be involved.
But that isn't what happened with the Thief modding community, if you just suddenly flick the switch and say well certain people can be paid it causes a lot of problems with in fighting, sometimes drawing people away from the modding scene and drawing in people that were driven by monetary gains.
Again, i'm not saying that money is evil or that it shouldn't be offered for fan creations just that in this situation and others it can muddle things up and cause more problems then good.

I fully agree that money can cause problems, but it can also create opportunities. I don't know anyone's circumstances, but I'd wager that there are many talented taffers on here who can't DromEd as much as we'd all like, b/c they need to grab an additional part time job to make ends meet. If they could get a few grand for their DromEding, that would eliminate that obstacle.
This is more or less the idea behind crowd funding, with one key distinction: crowd funded firms are ultimately producing goods to be later sold to consumers at a profit.

Mmh, that's difficult, I mean the question is, why do people create Fm's? Why we spend weeks and months, break our heads, if something doesn't work as it should? Chapeau to those, who have a family, children, many friends and other hobbies and still find the time to create Missions. Sometimes I'm sitting there and think, why the hell I spend that much time creating a Fm.
Reasons for doing it could be: I have this idea of a Mission but can't find one, I want a mission that I would play myself, Ok, so I create one. But, playing your own Fm is ridiculous, it's like reading my own book I wrote(who could be the murderer, I don't know).
Of course, you hope, others like it too and have a little fun with it. If so, it's like applause, therefore a bit of vanity also plays a role I guess.
I don't want money for this, maybe a bit more recognition sometimes. I feel guilty when a Mission is release, people play it and than you read, this doesn't work and this and that isn't fine regardless the Mission was tested. I'm sorry for that but than I think, what the f..k.
On the the other hand, our Missions will also release by the support of the members. Support is a keyword, can I still expect it when money plays a role?

I like to replay my missions once in a year, i don't do only missions for the thief community i create them probably mainly for me :laff: that explains why sometimes i don't do typical thief missions.
