I think DX:HR doubled-down a little too hard on the mystery plot device. Almost every mission is simply following clues from a previous mission to further unravel what happened, why it happened, and what's going to happen next (too late). There are exceptions, but that's the gist of it.
Contrast with DX1, where almost every mission feels important to people's lives. "I'm sending your butt to the Mayor to explain why he and his three daughters won't get their pills this month." Save Paul. Save yourself from your killswitch. Destroy the sources of the Grey Death. Save the scientists; save the one's daughter. Redirect a nuke. Showdown with the big bad. There are exceptions, Paris is mostly tracking down Everett, but the gist of it is very different from DX:HR.

Came across a bug in the prologue. Just after you get your bottle throwing lesson there's a wall to climb. When I first climbed up on the right-hand side there were three coins in a bird's nest, but when I tried to grab them the bird's nest and the coins disappeared before the animation completed, and now I can't changed the pitch of my view angle, it stays locked to the point where the coins are/were. So if I drop down off the wall again I look up at the sky, unable to lower my head. The coins reappear if you move to the right most edge of the wall, but disappear again if you move close to them or try to pick them up. This happen to anyone else?

Thief is out. While I've been arguing with the negative jagoffs in T4A about their poor attitudes (seriously, who writes a 25 paragraph scathing review OF A GAME THEY HAVEN'T PLAYED*) I suspect it's going to be shit. Actually, I suspect that what happened is they were trying to rip off Assassin's Creed, then Dishonored came out halfway through development and showed everyone you could have critical and commercial success with a LookingGlass-style game, so they threw some stuff together to make it look more like Thief and then shoved it out the door. On the other hand, it could be fun as hell. I have no idea.
Regardless, I'm going to post thoughts/screens here once I get a chance to fire it up. Unlike other "let's play" threads I was thinking everyone could chip in screens and thoughts and whatever. Or choke on a boner and die, I don't care.
*The answer is someone so psychotic that 2 separate people from Reddit came over to explain why he was banned from there.LET'S ALL PLAY PIAF
Non, Rien de rien
Non, Je ne regrette rien
Ni le bien qu'on m'a fait
Ni le mal tout ça m'est bien égal
Non, Rien de rien
Non, Je ne regrette rien
C'est payé, balayé, oublié
Je me fous du passé
Avec mes souvenirs
J'ai allumé le feu
Mes chagrins, mes plaisirs
Je n'ai plus besoin d'eux
Balayés les amours
Avec leurs trémolos
Balayés pour toujours
Je repars à zéro
Non, Rien de rien
Non, Je ne regrette rien
Ni le bien qu'on m'a fait
Ni le mal tout ça m'est bien égal
Non, Rien de rien
Non, Je ne regrette rien
Car ma vie, car mes joies
Aujourd'hui, ça commence avec toi

I noticed that Thief isn't even on the top 100 games being played list on Steam. That seems pretty bad for for a major release that came out only 2 days ago, although obviously being a new release means it doesn't have the userbase that others games have. Currently Bioshock Infinite is #85 and Dishonored is #99.
This is probably because it's not out in Europe yet. Wouldn't surprise me if it's on there by Sunday. But if it's as short as everybody says and doesn't have much in the way of replayability it'll probably drop back off pretty quickly.
[edit]Actually, it's on there already. #17 on the list as I'm looking at it right now, with 6430 current players, and a peak of 9600.

Regarding the story;
I guess some of you saw that tweet from Rhianna Pratchett where she said something like "I did work on it. I'm not talking about it. There are reasons"
It was a bit cryptic, but the mind does jump to a Mirror's Edge situation yet again.

Same production studio too, I imagine?
