Death is inevitable, but makes for awesome drama.
So how do you imagine the end of Garrett´s life ?
Do you think he would pull a last, impossible heist (stealing the Baron´s treasury for example) just to go out with style ?
Or would he die of old age, surrounded by his faithful keepers and his apprentice in a very dark chamber at a keeper´s lair ?
Would he simply disappear without anyone noticing ?
Would he feel he´s dying and decide to invade a graveyard reserved for noble people and sleep there ? He could just enter the Alarus Extension, leave his bow on the altar and lay on an open coffin...
Or maybe a noble sacrifice, putting the Eye back at the Cathedral, sneaking to the nearby graveyard and finding an open grave to lay inside, deciding that if he had to come back as a zombie/ghost he would at least spend his afterlife protecting the Eye and therefore the entire City...
What would be a good ending for a Master Thief ?

I guess he jumps onto a rope arrow and gets blown half a mile across the rooftops of the City to arrive in some dirty alley with a broken neck.

I don't.
Lest I want to be depressed for weeks.
Nope. Garrett will go on ..... at least he will if God puts me in charge of things. Which I have on good authority should happen any time now.

Sadder version :
A Garrett in his 50s gets mortally wounded, lies on the street for a few hours, is found by his apprentice ("you know who" from the epilogue of TDS) and brought back home... She manages to put him together, but his health is waining... He loses the struggle a few weeks later, dieing calmly in his bed and appointing the girl to take over the role of the new Master Thief and Keeper of the Balance... Garrett goes to the Land Without Suffering (tm) and is reunited with his one true love, Vi... ehem... you get the picture ! ;) :cheeky:
Cheerier version :
Garrett appoints his apprentice the new Master Thief and Keeper of the Balance... and rides (or runs...) away into the sunset, lol !!! :laff: :laff: :thumb: :)
But, nah, I don't want to see him die. It would be more interesting to see him as an old grumpy geezer... :joke:

That actually made me laugh out loud addone! :thumb:
I don't know how many times I've plunged to my death or alerted the guards because I couldn't climb back down the frackin' ladders properly!!!

S.H.A.S., you know it. His death will be sudden and seemingly inexplicable.
He will die having one last go at doing what he loves most.

It's Garrett - he'll never die; all that could happen was that one day, burglaries just stop in the city, and nobody ever hears from him again. He'll become a whispered legend, a story that guards tell their children at night, and he'll enter folklore as a Robin-Hood type figure.
