Past the oh-wow-neat introduction a few months back, I haven't heard a single thing about them recently. Truthfully, OLEDs offer more disadvantages than they do advantages at this point. The lovely colors and true blacks are offset by the fact that they're expensive, hard to repair, and are short lived. In other words, they're still a very new technology, and I don't expect to see any affordable OLEDs at Best Buy for another couple of years yet.

I've had a 37" Samsung Series 5 for a little over a year, and it's fucking great. I actually use it as my PC monitor.
The thing about LCD black levels is that the backlight glow (which is what causes the blacks to not really be black) is only really noticeable if the majority of the screen is really dark and there's very little ambient light. Even then I'd say the black levels on mine are equivalent to or better than the 21" CRT that I was using previously.

I also still use a standard TV, it's a pretty good one but reading texts can be hard, other then that perfectly happy for now, sound is just as important as graphics and it has terrific sound. As long as it doesn't break down no LCD screen with crickets where speakers should be for me.
