Oh, I already have a custom gamesys, or is that not what you meant? So I can now just drop gen.osm at this point?
That's interesting though, didn't know that was an issue between machines. I guess I should have, because now that I think about it, there's been multiple versions of gen hasn't there? (although I wouldn't have known about what gen.osm applies to in usage.) Or actually, another thing I could do is include my version of gen.osm in my zip, although I don't know if darkloader would back up the FM player's gen.osm file.
R Soul is correct, just save your mission, quit, reload, save .mis Yes, Darkloader will provide the custom.osm to the players upon extracting to their T2 directory, and the engine will identify it as gen.osm. That way your custom timing should work okay.
Edit: by chance you add more timing later on, repeat the script_drop sequence to provide a fresh custom.osm in your zip.

No no, not a custom osm. I was asking if I could just put gen.osm in the zip and replace the FM player's version with mine. I know it's bad to replace original files, but that's why I was asking if darkloader would back that up first just to be safe.

Yes, you could, but the only way for anyone to know if it has your custom timing for the door, would be to rename it. Yes, the zipped gen.osm will take priority in the player's directory, after backing their gen.osm first.

The fixed gen has an older date than the broken one (used by the Premier version of T2), so I don't think Darkloader will overwrite it.

Damnit, I screwed it up. I guess I didn't do it right. I renamed gen.osm to timing.osm, dropped gen.osm and saved the mission. Now I can't load the mission, it just says "load failed."

Copy the gen.osm from your cd. Then, get rid of the bad.osm Open your mission,
and, you should be able to load your mission normally.
A.Script_load gen.osm
1.Script_drop_all
2.rename the gen.osm Timing.osm is fine.
3.Script_load Timing.osm
4.Script_load Convict.osm
Save mission.

I deleted timing.osm. Tried to open the mission, still says load failed. Can't even get into the mission because of that. Just a lesson for me to save as a different build more often. In fact, if I was smart, I should have done that before screwing with the OSM files.
I already had gen.osm. What I did was I made a copy of gen.osm and renamed it timing.osm. This is the original gen.osm that came with my game I believe.

With your gen.osm in your directory, try to use the backup.mis, and backup.gam provided by Dromed.

Ah thank you so much! That saved my bacon. Also, I was able to successfully add timing.osm, convict.osm, miss15, and miss16 now.:thumb:
