I tried to download "Down in the Old Vault" with Edge, Firefox and even ancient Internet Explorer (64 bit) on Windows 10 (x64). No problem.
With Google Chrome, things were mainly inconclusive. The "Down in the Old Vault" download was started, but when it reached "18.5 of 18.5 MB", there was no further progress or any other sign of activity anymore. After several minutes, Chrome whined that the download had failed. Another try right after the first one did work.
"A Job Well done" turned out becoming a download job well done by Chrome, but the parallel download of another mission, "Autumn in Lampfire Hills" (from the same download list), failed, almost in the same way "Down in the Old Vault" failed on first try. While the download of "Autumn in Lampfire Hills" stalled, the download of "A Job Well done" also stopped, but resumed after Chrome had decided to give up downloading "Lampfire Hills".
Downloading v1.6 of the "Keeper of Infinity" campaign, also from Taffer's Paradise and in the same list, worked flawlessly. Downloading "Lampfire Hills" again also succeeded.
The machine which I used for testing acted rather slow, though. The download speeds were OK, but once I clicked onto some button or else, I could almost fetch and drink at least one coffee until the machine had reacted. Could be caused by Windows' idea to grab new updates just at that time, I don't know.
A second computer running on Linux downloaded "Download in the Old Vault":cheeky: without problems, without any slowdown, and with Firefox.
My comment on this is "shrug, shrug and double shrug" - no idea what's going on there.

Who runs Thiefmissions.com? Maybe someone could contact them to ask them to upload everything since 2017

I fixed a few missions that were missing. Thee link problem seems not to be a problem on taffers end from what I can see as the site has not changed in years. This could be a windows/browser problem.

Epithumia has long retired from active duties (Oct 2013) however if an author emails him with details of their new mission he will upload it, so that's why you see a few from 2014 onwards but there are 100's of missing FM's from Thief Missions and that's not counting all the updated versions released since 2013, so can't see TM being brought up to date.
As for the updating of Mby thread where I could not find an active link for a few of the big missions I have contacted Glypher at Darkfate and asked him to host the missing missions, a which he has done, so the new MbyT thread will have active links for every mission (I've even uploaded a few smaller missions onto my GDrive) but my concern is the number of private GDrive, Mega, Dropbox links in the new thread as these are the links that historically disappear after a few years, but when Southquarter is back on line I will try to replace those private links with SQ links.
PS. Thanks for your research Mr B, sounds like it's google chrome that is the issue but why would chrome prevent third party d/ls......Grrrr

Are you sure it's the problem with Google Chrome? I'm asking, because all other links I can open by just clicking on them normally. Only clicking on Taffers Paradise links doesn't work. If the issue was with Google Chrome, then I would have problem with opening every link by clicking on it, isn't that right?

Good thinking...me bees stupid

The cognitive abilities of your honey bees won't help us, I'm afraid.:cheeky:
I was mainly mentioning the results with Chrome because they stood out from the rest. If everyone who has problems downloading would use Chrome, and everyone else would not, we would have our "smoking gun". But I guess it will be more complicated, for if it was just Taffer's Paradise, then every browser and OS should be affected. I rather think that there are several factors contributing to the problem, and only if someone has all of them on his machine and/or somewhere around the download link, the download problem will raise its ugly head.
Unfortunately, further experiments by me have to be delayed - Windows 10 once again went belly up while trying to update itself, so until I restore a belly down backup, there's not much to experiment with anymore.

Which link? The very first one leads to a Mediafire page telling me that the key (???) to the download is not valid anymore, probably because the file isn't hosted on Mediafire anymore. The second one, once again, is a Taffer's Paradise link.
Another thing that might contribute to the problem could be that the links we discussed all were without any "http://" or "https://" prefix. However, that's true for all other links I saw on Taffer's Paradise. Anyway, when bringing such an URL into the browser by copy&paste, many browsers try it again with different prefixes just in case the user has forgotten that prefix.
Maybe it's Google Chrome plus non-prefixed link plus something else that's keeping it from working.-scratching head-

From what I noticed if you open link in new window, it opens blank page, then you just click on link and press Enter. Better alternative is opening link in incognito window. This solution works immediately.
