Lol, sounds almost like a benny conversation. Here's another one.

Guard:You do know that's a texture from Thief you are using right?
Benny:No it isn't, it's a whole screenshot! Saves work that way.
Guard:You taffer, that's even worse! You are going to get us both in trouble doing that.
Benny:Isn't worse in my opinion. Making backgrounds is a lot of hard work. Besides I won't get in trouble. You keep telling me I'm an idiot right? If anyone figures it out just tell 'em I'm sloooow.

And let´s think about the positive sides of this... They were stealing from the best games and Thief is in it. It´s some sort of weird propaganda for Eidos or at least a message that Thief is still in the heart of the gaming community.

So true, and a very good point. Hmmm... if it weren't for Deadly Shadows though, Thief would not have been included.

They seem to have a history of "borrowing" images from other sources, and it stretches much further back than the current release. In the (http://amr.abime.net/review_35215) 1995 review of the original Amiga version of the game, if you click on the second page scan to get a closer look, you see some character sketches. The top right sketch of the hag/witch bears an uncanny resemblance to (http://www.legend-movie.info/characters/goblinpage/meg.htm) Meg Mucklebones from the 1985 movie Legend. (In fact, it looks like the concept artist probably used this (http://www.figmentfly.com/legend/gifs/LegendVideouk2.JPG) early edition VHS cover as the reference shot).

I don't really feel sorry for them - there's that tinge of, "they had a dream but couldn't make it reality." But then, they have a Geocities website. That blows away all thoughts of their dream being inaccessible - they just don't care. It's not expensive and it's not hard to get a website - hosting + domain for a small project is literally pocket change nowadays. My monthly newspaper subscription costs almost 3 times as much as a website I run right now.

I just want to see what their response is to all this, it'll be glorious.

No kidding. I have a very large hosting package (much larger than I actually need, really) and about ten domain names (only two of which are actually in use currently). And I'm a student. If I can afford this stuff, goodness knows they could.
