Another indie platformer with artsy fartsy style...
Dude, is that the best you can do? You didn't even go and call it 'pretentious'!

Another nonsense post-Braid faux-art indie platformer swimming in its own pretentiousness. How can anyone even take this pop-garbage seriously is beyond me - black and white to represent sadness, loneliness and as the author itself audaciously suggests, the very status of limbo? Could it possibly be any more unimaginative? Alas, the enemies - giant spider to play on Man's fear of what holds different form than He, how very original! The hostile humans using blowpipes, obviously symbolizing the dangers of losing one's humanity and reverting back to the primal, animalistic state - message delivered with the grace and subtelty of rap music.

There's rap songs that have been more graceful and subtle than that post.

Yeah, that stuff gets old, but limbo does look extremely good, the play with paralax, the extremely smooth animations, the dynamic feel of the platforming

I played it a bit at the GDC this year. It had the most impressive atmosphere I've seen in years. Absolutely fascinating to play.

I'd agree that platformers are awful vehicles for philosophical reflection. They're for running around and jumping on shit, hopefully with a nice atmosphere that can put you in a contemplative mood at best. When I think 'reflection', I think of Hemingway prose... To the point, brings some real world emotion to the surface, and no giant bouncing animals fucking with the point.
The closest a platformer got for me was some things in Kyntt Stories, like a lonely-looking NPC, little more than background art of a girl just sitting by herself on a platform you can't even reach as if waiting for something or someone, or maybe just wanting to be alone, and in a second you pass her by. This has a little too much going on to be that subtle, though the art direction is nice... Just wish it was a little more ... hands-off maybe, and let the atmosphere sink in. That's just an intuition from the video, though; I might have a different opinion playing it, and do want to try it.

Played it for about 2 hours last night, and it's already up there with Ico and Another World as one of my favorite platformers. It's definitely worth checking out!
