My apologies if this has been asked before, but I searched and found nothing.
How do I make the FAILONSEE, FAILONKO, and FAILONKILL cheats work with Thief 2 versions 1.19 and later? I add the lines to user.cfg as usual but they have no effect in the game.

I had forgotten about these commands. Just tried them out on my PC, running T2 1.21, and they work just fine.

Okay, I will try that version, then. I have 1.19. Thank you.

Hmm, it's still not working for me and I don't know why. Here's what I have in my user.cfg:
cheats_active
FailOnSee
FailOnKO
FailOnKill
This should be working, yes?

This is what I have used so far :
cheats_active
nokillgoalcheat
lockcheat

Yes, those two work just fine, but it's the others I'm really interested in. I just did a fresh reinstall and still no good. I have a feeling it's because I'm using the GOG version of T2. I'm trying to figure out how to work it.

Hmm. All five cheats that have been mentioned are handled by scripts in the gen.osm and convict.osm files. There have been multiple versions of those files in the past, some with bugs, though I didn't think that was still an issue... To be sure, try the versions of those files in the thief2 folder inside (
http://www.thiefmissions.com/darkloader/ThiefScripts.zip) this archive. (Extract them to your main Thief 2 folder, but rename the originals so that you still have them.)

Hmm, I downloaded those scripts and it's still not working. The nokillgoalcheat and lockcheat work just fine but not the others. Why would the scripts be selective like that?

Also tried those files from kdau. They don't work for me either.

Finally got it to work. I did another full re-install but used Tafferpatcher this time (which I've never used before). The gen and convict scripts provided with that installer are dated the same as the ones in the GOG.com installation (3/27/2000), which is peculiar. It would lead me to think that those scripts weren't causing the problem before. Well, whatever. It's working now. Thanks a bunch, guys.
