Little / Big World (TG) questions... - by Exxos

I've just had so much fun running around as a tiny person in a big room. This extra section in TG is great!
So here are my questions:
1. Anyone know why this extra section ended up in TG? Who designed it? What the story is behind it?
&
2. Is there any way to get over to the mantlepiece? I'd like to take a closer look at those pictures...
Thanks!

Off the top of my head:
I believe Emil Pagliarulo put it in. He's the guy who developed "Life of the Party" in Thief: The Metal Age. Someone'll correct me if I'm wrong.

I think it has been done, but I don't recall exactly how. Try a Rope. Getting out is a tricky one though.

I'm not sure if you can or not. I tried for ages to get up there and finally gave up. I had a blast with it though. . .and died only about a zillion times. lol
Another fun place to explore is the 'vertical' world right after you leave the giant world. . .you come out into a sort of sideways bathroom. If you use rope arrows, you can go UP from there into a sideways place. Though I never could get into the next room after the bathroom. Unfortunately gravity still works and while I could get up and over, I couldn't make it to the other doorway. (not sure if there's anything over there, anyway)
The one thing I loved about the big world was the havoc it played on your senses. If you're up, it doesn't SEEM so small. . until you drop and discvoer the floor is a long. . .long long long way away. lol

Yeah, I remember wondering why Garrett was moving so slow, and then why I was falling so far after I jumped from the sink. And then I remember the realization hitting me and the pure respect I had for the developers.

The first time that I entered the little world it took me a minute to realize that I wasn't being approached by a hundred-foot tall guard.

Oh yeah. I had forgotten about that impression. Now that you mention it, I do recall spending the entire first time I was in there keeping an eye on that big door, expecting *someone* to come thumping in. When they didn't, I was scared to go into the bedroom because I was SURE he would be in there. lol Obviously, I eventually got over that and found out there was no one and then forgot about that.
