This may have been brought up before. Why is Deux Ex in a Looking Glass forum? Was dx a originaly a LG game?

There are some crossovers --
DX Producer Warren Spector was the producer of the original System Shock and Ultima Underworld titles. He also was the producer of the first Thief title.
Harvey Smith, DX Lead Designer and DX2 Project Lead was Lead QA on System Shock.
Currently the DX2 team has several ex-LG'ers on staff.

Warren was only at LGS for a little while. He was there when Thief was still known as 'Dark Camelot'. He did keep in touch after switching over to Ion Storm, and he gave input from what I gather.
If you notice, the DX boards are under LGS Leagacy. Warren Spector is of LGS Legacy. Harvey Smith has nothing to do with it. Harvey worked at Origin as Q&A for the original System Shock, as well as others.

I would argue that Harvey has a very strong LG legacy. At the time of SS1, LG had no formal internal QA department, and Harvey (who like Warren was at Origin) filled the
role as Lead QA on the project. If you tie Warren to the project, then you have to tie Harvey as well.
My point being, crossovers between LG and DX exist on many levels. All the way down to the Macintosh version of DX, which was done by Westlake Interactive, which formally was the Austin office of LG.
DX is a legacy of LG-style games and was and will continue to be influenced by the LG/dc heritage.
