Dethy, what's your take on the Vita, one year later? I want to pick up some type of portable gaming system, but can't decide what's best, doesn't seem like any of them are head and shoulders above the others. Project Shield looks cool, but will probably be too pricey at launch.
Also, what are some of the better games for the Vita?

I bought a PSP for $50 last October and I use that way more. Sony seems to have forgotten the Vita; I mostly only bought it for two games, neither of which I play much, and it took forever for Sony to bring even a fraction of the not-shitty PSP games over to the Vita's PSN.
It's got a nice screen for playing PS1 games on though.
Remote play is interesting, but laggy and does not seem to work for games. I think it's meant for watching or listening to media, except I have no media on the PS3 to be watching or listening to in the first place. (Must figure out how to use PS3 as media server...)

Seems like I'm one of the only one's who's actually enjoyed it. I've gotten a LOT of playtime out of Persona 4 Golden, and picked up the Assassin game for Vita to play over the next field problem. I also need to make sure to install FF7 before we head out. ALl in all, It's a great system.... I just wish we'd get some more quality releases on it.

Looks like it's going to work better with the PS4.

Looks like it's going to work better with the PS4.
The features they're advertising so far also supposedly existed with the PS3, doubt they'll work any better.

I just got one of these for Christmas.
It came with 3 games.
COD: Declassified, which I guess was a package deal.
Soul Sacrifice, which seems like a pretty run of the mill beat-em-up
Sonic Adventures racing (or somethign to that effect)
Also bought Uncharted: Golden Abyss from some dude on kijiji.
I thought it woudl be cool to own one of these, and now that I have it, I don't know what to do with it.
The games are too sophisticated to be considered casual for the most part, not like what I'd play on my phone.
But the more sophisticated they get the less interested I am because of the cramped controls and small screen.
I did load Killzone: Liberation that I got for free on PSN and never played because I didn't have a PSP, and it's a good blend of platforming and modern style gaming.
I think I'm goign to buy Alien Breed from PSN for it.
Anybody still play this thing?

Yeah, mine got a lot of use over Christmas.
I'd say that the best games I've played on it are TxK and Tearaway.
Uncharted just feels awkward, and I don't think it's really suited to the device.
Oh, and the best thing you can do?
Get a PS+ account.
I've got 33 full games on my Vita, and I've only bought 4 of those.

Yeah I don't even have a Vita but I probably have a half dozen Vita games thanks to PS+. Almost makes me want to buy a Vita actually. They're kinda pricey tho. Like 170 bucks? If I could find one for say, a cool hundo, I might get it. But not more than that. Not more than a cool hundo.
