There's been some quite disturbing sentences carried out to the rioters. For example a 23-year-old guy got 6 months in jail for stealing water bottles from Lidl - amounting to a whopping 3,5£. One lady is about to get a prison sentence for stealing two balls of ice cream.
They're just gonna swamp their prisons and courts even further than they're now.

It has got a bit mad. I feel bad for those two guys who got 4 years (YEARS!) for "inciting riots" by posting stuff on facebook. Nothing happened in the areas they lived/joked about. Some of the actual rioters are getting much, much less than this.

Unfortunately that's rather typical of countries with two-tiered justice systems.
In the US he would have just gotten a written reprimand( or in proper US terminology, a letter of censure) if that.
