Thanks for posting this.
I quite liked it.
A lot of small tidbits that are interesting.
E.g. Emil Pagliarulo did the Dark Brotherhood questlines in TES. Tbh, I didn't like the Dark Brotherhood quests in Skyrim at all. (I think I remember I liked the TDB stuff in Oblivion or Morrowind).
Harvey Smith sounds like a guy who got educated by his environment very well. He understands all the stuff that was done/needed to make good games. And he can reproduce it. But for some reason, I don't see him come up with new revolutionary stuff himself. A craftsman, not a scientist. (I bet most companies prefer a good craftsman over a good scientist). Am I mistaken ?
One of the big questions at the beginning was: what was so special about LGS, and why can't (or won't) studios make games like that anymore. Unfortunately, that question (why can't they make games like that anymore) was not answered at all.
It was good that the questions from the audience hardly took any time. :)

This thread should be in the games section. But anyways, kickstarter is helping alot with the more experimental style stuff. The rest is more from the indie companies though more in the 2D and basic 3D style games.

LGS made games for "MIT grads".
Modern-day Irrational makes games for community college grads.

I'm not sure who you're giving too much credit, community college grads or irrational.
