If you are referring to missing stuff ("the" & "an" in this case) then you are wrong. Reading is not composed of letter recognition and stringing them together like one learned it at first - whole words (and even sentences predictively [shut up speller, there is nothing wrong with this word]) get recognized at once. The words themselves might even be a complete mess of wrong letters and one can still read it pretty easily. The mind just leaps ahead by predictive patter recognition and does not perceive the little details it termed to be unimportant, as it thought it already got the "sailing points" and does not bother to look more closely to validate the bazillion assumptions it made in the process.
So, not looking in the wrong place - just not "seeing" it.
