"The Thieves Quarter" is another city mission for Thief 1, although I found it difficult in a few spots when I played it many years ago.
It's an old mission but I don't remember the content being bad.
However, I *do* remember that I had many crashes when I played it back then, which is why I didn't recommend it in my post.
But perhaps it runs better with NewDark now? Anybody tried?

I tried out Thieves' Quarter recently and it didn't crash at all (didn't finish it, though). It's really nice looking, but the sound is kinda buggy :( .
I have fond memories of The Inheritance, which is a small mansion mission.

There were a few things which went wrong for me. For example, I think Garrett had to visit a barkeeper at some point in the mission, but I needed to run around a bit until the objective or conversation was triggered. Then there was the unusual idea that the player had to
destroy a large statue during the mission, and I did not find any readable which gave me the right idea. Only after I read about that some months later her I was able to proceed.
Differences between the difficulty levels added to my confusion a bit, although that's my fault, not the author's.
The mission itself really isn't bad, but a few spots did not work very well for
me.

I fired it up again after reading Yamatotakeru's post and played it with my T1G-installation (newest patch applied).
Regarding the frequent crashes: I'm now not so sure it was this mission I had many problems with, but there were indeed some - mostly avoidable - problems. One crash that I can reproduce is grabbing the golden hammer on the altar, which results in permanently getting stuck as one can't get a certain objective... :-(
I absolutely agree that it's quite unconventional in some ways. Examples: There's a fly spitting cloud that may or may not kill you instantly. Practically every enemy respawns, but even though this is mentioned in the readme file it gives the whole mission a trial&error feel. Example:
I smash a boarded window in the abbey and have to quickly jump through it to escape. Now the haunt that appeared right behind me waits patiently for my return...On the plus side the build quality is quite high: Every building interior is quite detailed for it's time (it was made in 2000). If a ceiling is broken you'll find rubble on the ground, there is a lot of debris and other stuff for decoration, like particle effects. Candles can be unlit and a wall can be removed, stone by stone. Windows in the street lighten up and then darken again. It's also well textured and there aren't many glitches (I could find).
This level of detail has a price, though: The city part is quite small. Yes, it's called a "quarter" but it really isn't more than a block.
I also agree that there should've been more readables to increase the atmosphere even further. I mean, it's called "The Thieves Quarter" - and where does that come into play? The last part is practically an "undead festival" that could happen in the Old Quarter...
Still, if you play this mission after the "Plot" campaign (like myself) then you can't really criticize it: "Plot" has it wrong in practically every aspect...

Virtual Asylum is a nice survival mission where you have to survive with no weapons

You have practically listed pretty much all the classics and many of my T1/G favorites, so I can only add a few more:
- "Business at Midnight" (city & city watch)
- "Events in Highrock" (classic city & castle mission)
- "Geller's Pride" (city & mansion, as far as I remember)
- "Hammerhead: Return to the Docks"
- "Hush, Hush...Sweet Harlot" (classic city mission)
- "Invitation to Castle Morgoth" (castle)
- "Lord Edmund Entertains" (manor)
- "Nigel’s Hidden Treasure" (city & mansion, I believe)
- "Ranstall Keep" aka "The Keep" by Alex "Jyre/Dashjianta" Thomson (somewhat influenced by the 1983 movie of the same name)
- "Shadow of Doubt Campaign" (I believe the first mission is a nice city mission - the last or second to last could be a mansion...)
- "The Keep" by Apache & Flakeman
- "The Rose of Bantry" (small & old city mission, also has a nice little ship to explore)
- "The Saint of Redmound" (warehouse, monastery - prequel of "Returning a Favor" by Morrgan)
- "The Shadow of Lord Rothchest" (city, mansion, rooftop - though of smaller scale, first mission of Purah (Calendra series & Autumn in Lampfire Hills)
Also:
- "Bloodstone Prison" (well, a prison mission, but it looks a bit like inside a castle ;), very well done - try it!)
- "Tears of Blood" (another Escape From Prison mission, so skip if you want)
Well, I've been playing...I loved these: "Hush, Hush...Sweet Harlot" and "The Saint of Redmound". "Hammerhead: Return to the Docks" and "The Shadow of Lord Rothchest" are good missions. I will play the rest as free time.
And thanks for the suggestions everyone!

I know that. Nice and simple missions.
