Kinda odd posting this news tidbit in the one gaming forum that's not specific to Looking Glass Studios. Still, the other forums are too specific.

The Armchair Empire thinks Looking Glass is the number one studio-that's-no-longer-with-us:

Good read, albeit a bit short. Here are a few other fallen homies, for whom the pouring out of 40s are most certainly in order:

Developers of the excellent (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4CxMIwSMtSc) Little Big Adventure games (:D) as well as (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btEFhyvGod0&feature=related) Time Commando. Ah... the game that let you travel through time, meet intersting people, and beat them up. ~~memories~~

Made/published some great games back in the 80's: Impossible Mission 1&2, World/International Karate Championship, 4x4 Off-Road Racing, California Games 1&2, Summer Games 1&2, Winter Games 1&2, World Games 1 THE LIST GOES ON
Distinctive Software
Hard to imagine any developer doing more for the genre of racing games than Distinctive Software(ok, maybe (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Papyrus_Design_Group) Papyrus, who also deserve a shoutout on this list). Not only did Distinctive make Test Drive, they also developed the excellent (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CITIXlw_T4) Stunts, which had 3D polygonal worlds, and let you build your own tracks. Somewhat of a precursor to Trackmania.
