Looking Glass: #1 studio no longer there. - by addink

Legend Entertainment! Gateways 1&2, Eric the Unready, Death Gate...
It's impossible to say which defunct studio I'd miss the most; just that there are way too many that I used to love and probably none still in business that I could muster much affection for. I suppose it was inevitable that gaming would turn into just another money-making business, but it always makes me sad when I think about what it used to be like "just" a decade or two ago. Guess there's always indies to keep the spirit alive :p
(Or maybe I'm just old and cynical and nothing much has changed)

CD are still around, he's just in denial because they pretty much work exclusively on Tomb Raider in recent years. This is fine since the Crystal Dynamics TR's are the best that have ever been.
Well they're pretty much dead to me. While TR is ok, it doesn't compare to LoK. It's mostly because the writer of the previous LoK games left and the series wasn't making enough profit so they're sticking to milking TR dry.

Bloody hell, are they?! Damn, what a way to go.

Seconding Origin. Of course, I'll be an Origin fan until the day I die; and only for one game, Ultima IV: Quest of the Avatar.

For me, Wing Commander I and Ultima VI, but I hear you bro.

Wait, CD went down? When?
Eva is right, although they axed a large portion of the studio after Eidos realized that you can't milk the living shit out of a property every single year and still have 5 million people buy it.
Unless you are Madden, of course.

Absolutely god-damn agree with folks about Origin. Not many other companies could claim to have as influential a body of work as theirs. The world of computer gaming would be much the poorer if they hadn't made The Ultimas and Wing Commanders and Privateers and Crusaders... not to mention the other games in their oeuvre.

Hear, hear, brother! :thumb: (hands a tankard of fine ale)
