As Brethren said.
Sure this is not LGS, LGS is history and just a company name, but the spirit will surely live on through the people involved with the new company and we can expect some interesting things to come from them.
Let's hope they'll succeed and with a bit of good luck we will get LGS quality stuff from them. I was waiting for that day and here it is.

Hope they make a new, better Thief too.

I would rather see a proper spiritual sequel like Dishonored than a disgraceful official one like Thief 4. A name is just a name, and a character - as much as we like it - is just a character.
Also, I hope they keep Warren Spector far, far away from any meaningful development role.

I agree that names aren't that important beyond identifying the product and setting a tone. I would also like if they tried something new and interesting instead of just rehashing old glories. Not saying that Otherside Entertainment is just trying to rehash them, mind you.

Well that's nice. I hope it becomes a real possibility at some point.
What do you mean the article says that it probably would never happen for Thief? I read it mentions that it is unlikely for Arcane to "snatch" that IP, which I pray will never happen (Dishonored hater here :D).

If a game had only one aspect of Thief, than it'd be good already, but imagine a game that had it all? Thief is more than just stealth, or just steam-punk. It is more than the sum of it's parts. So if you make a game very similarly to Thief, it's still will not be what Thief is. It still will be a great game, but in this particular case I say that the title does matter.

This is possibly too obvious a point to make, but the place one ends up after going through the Looking Glass is the Otherside. Sounds like a shoutout to LGS and us along the way to me. :D

I hope they can keep up the marketing of their crowdfunding. They're already almost halfway to their initial goal, but I've seen good Kickstarts dry up shortly after the first wave of donators. Like Solarix, the spiritual successor to System Shock 2. I don't really care as much about Ascendant as I care about Neurath's company, and I want to see it succeed so that maybe in the future there could be more games made with the Looking Glass design philosophy.

Chances are good they'll make it, but after a day you can see how the momentum got lost, like abruptly, and it looks that it will just tag along till the end slowly like that, which leaves not much hope for stretch goals. :(
I hope they can come up with motivating updates during the next days.
