> I can't believe you people are so eager to sign up for a book that hasn't been written yet
We're not 'signing up' for something which doesn't exist -- we're indicating interest in something which could exist if there is enough interest.
> which you don't know the content of,
A general overview was included
> don't know who the author is,
True, except they're a journalist and professed "Dedicated Thief Lover" and as such would most likely want to do such a project proper justice.
> how much it will cost
$12-20, according to the home page poll.
> and you don't know when, where or in which formats it will be published.
Also true.
Again, the entire purpose of this poll is to let the would-be author know whether there's any point in working out those kinds of details.
> Then again, I suppose most of you would buy anything which contained the letters 'LGS'
Or LGT for that matter. (Or even BSP :)
> If it was a good book, I might buy it, but I couldn't answer until I saw it.
No one is writing out any cheques just yet. All anyone here is saying is that if it happens and it's a good book then we'd be willing to buy it. That's all they were asking.

Seriously, what the fuck? It's about Looking Glass! Who cares what's in the book? We should all vote "yes" just for being here!

I find it hard to believe that less than 400 people have voted already.

twisty: you aren't counting all the people who voted on the website polls. Only registered forum members can vote here.

If I were a publisher, I think that I would find it hard to take a cookie based poll seriously. Considering that there are over 11,000 current members at TTLG, of which some are probably secondary accounts or erroneous registrations, I would have expected the response on the members poll to be far greater than what it currently is.

How many of those eleven thousand users are active? How many have visited once in the last month? I would guess that less than four thousand of them have.

Yes, but even accounting for that you would think that there would have been a greater number of votes cast already.
