Those items have no value or use. Drop them as quietly as possible.

Come on people! Think back to when you tried Thief for the very first time, especially if you weren't a gamer before that. I wasn't and asked my son a ton of really obvious questions because I just didn't know enough to figure it out myself.

Indeed, but when I played Thief the first time in my life, I was eight years old, and when I took an object and didn't hear the loot sound, I understood that it was an useless objects.
Moreover in T3, the first time you pick up an useless object, you got a message saying that you just have to drop or to launch it...
I could be wrong, but I'm feeling that the guy is kidding us...

At the risk of sounding trivial, I think we could all mostly agree that if this person isnt just trolling, which is usually the first thought especially in these jaded times, then surely he/she must be a child!
