I'm sure you use that argument against yourself every time you don't like how some aspect of some consumable was made.

wouldn't that become so sickening to have to put in a box how valuable an item is?:bored:
I'm confused. Am I the victim of some clever bit of reverse sarcasm, or did you take my suggestion seriously?

Remember that since internet is unable to convey expressions or tones of voice, badly written sarcasm doesn't make you sound sarcastic, it makes you sound incredibly stupid, or a troll. In this case your post was interpreted as incredibly stupid. That's just how it goes.

Chade, there are maybe half a dozen posters here who make stranger assertions in dead earnest. ;)

That number changes and who it applies to can shift if sarcasm and facetiousness are recognized, let alone, if the post is even understood with the intent it was written. ;)

Indeed. So amazingly stupid, in fact, that I feel the sarcasm should have been obvious. :erg:
Never mind.

If it comforts you, I got it. But maybe that's because I'm never trying to pseudo-justify gameplay elements from the old titles which were not as superior as some want them to be nowadays.

Isn't it weird that you're saying that in one of the few subjects that are unquestionably the opposite? As I pointed out, the way loot is handled was made worse in every concievable way in TDS. And I didn't even mention the stuff that isn't directly related to finding and handling loot ingame. You're right that some aspects of TDS get ripped on too much, and their original counterparts weren't perfect either, but the subject here, which is loot, is an exception to that. Nothing in what TDS changed about the loot is good.
You can come and say what you said again, when someone is defending the argument that "The "interact"-key and "use an item"-key should be the same button." -That is trying to justify something in the originals that was actually made better in TDS.

Yeah, this wasn't strictly referring to this topic but the attitude in general. I mean, for instance your whole monster poll is biased in its very options, you see where we're coming from.

I know it's biased. But not entirely. Do the poll options say: "Awesome Fire shadows" and "Stupid Cradle puppets" or "Thief-mandatory burricks" and "Lame and pathetic Kurshoks"? No. I'm not trying to say that the creatures exclusive to the originals are by definition better, and the creatures exclusive to TDS suck. The reason why I say "funny haunts and grandpa zombies in TDS" is because those opinions are widely held, and the fact that the better counterparts came earlier in the series is not because of misguided nostalgia. They're just better.
I think you're suffering from misguided anti-nostalgia, thinking that nothing old can be good. Or more like "nothing old that many people think is better can actually be good because they're probably just misguided by nostalgia". There's a difference between saying that Super Mario is the best game ever, and saying that Ocarina of Time is the best game ever. Both are older games. But the first option is pure nostalgia, the second is an educated opinion based on objective review.
Oh, and if my poll was so obviously biased, it doesn't matter. Because something obviously biased can't affect the votes of anyone smart enough to realize that. And even if it does, good. Because there are more people who have only played TDS than there are those who have only played the originals, and all are still allowed to vote. So if my biased options could influence someone's vote, it would only level the playing field instead of tipping the scales.
