All the sound as far as I know are from the game, so I don't think the one-liners will help you that much. I wonder why they aren't translated, but maybe some of them are from Thief Gold.

I have only used original sounds, Garrett's comments are all from Thief II. :)
The book in the Librarian's office told you about the secret passage in Lord Gervasius house. It should only be a tip, that the fanmission is before Thief II. ;)

Where is the golden skull? is there a secret passage somewhere in the library. I opened the door at the far end of the attic by moving the telescope, but I can't seem to get to that door.

You really didn't need to post your question in two places. Just putting it here, rather than starting a new thread would have been fine. In any case, I'll answer it here, too, if I can.
You didn't say WHY you can't get to that door at the far end of the attic?? Are you missing the attic key? Are you having trouble getting past the tree beast?? If you are missing the key, [SPOILER]then go back down to the outdoor pool and into the room behind the corner screen. Inside the room, there's another screen and the key is on the floor behind it.[/SPOILER]
If the problem is the treebeast, I've been told he's easy to get rid of with a fire arrow. For a sneakier way, [SPOILER]go into the doorway, lean in and put out the torch above the door with a water arrow. Then you can either sneak down to the far end, or sneak over behind the treebeast and backstab it. [/SPOILER]

Just so you know for the next time, because I'm sure we've all done that, you can delete the thread you started by mistake. Just hit the "edit' button at the top of your post, tick off delete and the entire thread will disappear. It's not a good idea to do this if you've had any replies, but if you do it as soon as you realize your mistake, nobody will ever know! :)

Help! I've opened the vault, found the room with the safes, but I can't find the safe key or the room with the other statue!!! I've looked everywhere!

The safe-key is in[SPOILER]one of the green safes, you can lockpick them. When you have the safe-key, you can open the Safe-door, near the vault. Go in and you will find the second statue[/SPOILER] I hope it helpes you :)

Am stuck in Lord Ashtons... I have got all the stuff but my loot is only 5832 out of 8000. I have been around the map a lot at this stage but cannot find any more cash. Help greatly appreciated. there is one other thing that puzzles me

Welcome to the forum, csich! :)
The statue in the office is one of two statues. [SPOILER]The second one is in behind a locked door in a small room off the landing at the top of the stairs. To open the door to the room with the statue, you need the safe key, which you should have found in one of the green safes.[/SPOILER]
As for loot, it's scattered all over. Did you find [SPOILER]a tiny ring on the bottom of the bathtub in the big fancy bathroom that opens off the pool upstairs?
How about the secret room that opens off of the room with the 2 green safes? Look for a tiny lever on the side of the fireplace.
There's a ring in the bushes, just below the ladder that leads up to the rooftop garden.
There's a nugget behind some red flowering plants out by the greenhouses.
There are coins in the outdoor pond beside Capt. Shephard and his girlfriend.
In the gambling room that opens into one of the outdoor courtyards, there's a pair of dice behind a banner that are loot.
In the big, outdoor pool, there's a tiara on the bottom.
There's a large bedroom that opens off of the upstairs pool. There's a hidden room above the ceiling where you can find a torc, worth 350g.

I think that's most of the hard to find loot. Does that help?
