Lord Ashton Series FM 2: A Night's Stroll (V2: Aug 16, 2002) - by comfortably numb

this is one area that is critical to the continuance of the game that is fatal (without reloading) if you don't find the key. I read another thread where there was a comment about this and I must agree...the rope doesn't come down far enough to get back out if you have the wrong one (key) or don't realize you need one till you get there :( I thought I had the right one and went down...I had to reload to get out. This I think could have and should have been fixed to correct this one area of play. Thankfully, I did read the other thread and figured I best save it before going down...so I wouldn't have to redo too much. Otherwise, this is a very good and interesting mission to play as I remarked earlier :) I even threw a bucket down there first..just in case or so I thought to give me a little extra height...however, when part way down I heard an explosion (not knowing where it came from and the one character I didn't BJ in butcher shop, came running out crying for help, etc. (as I came back up to investigate a little to try and see what happened?). It seems that the burrick got out (as I had unlocked the door but closed it again) and the butcher ended up standing there at the front of his little ally (for want of a better word) and attributed it (explosion) to that event. So I went down only to discover my pail was now disintergated :( Still not quite putting it all together, I finally found the source and after a couple of shots..continued on only to find I was boxed in :(
When a player gets in this kind of situation...a way really needs to be provided to find a way out again...not leave it to a reload...this is only a reasonable thing to do and make sure of in any FM. So my comment is for the general FM making community not just this one in particular...I am playing the "Easy" mode by the way and I don't always follow a particular path in playing to find this or that first...as I wander around trying to find my way and so I don't always get objectives in order. However, I did try to follow...given the instructions that were in dairy, scroll and the path I did have to try and find as I covered each area. Conversly, even though I tried to understand some of the signs in the village...I had a difficult time with a couple of them and not sure if I went in the Pub by accident cause one of them had an older wealthier looking woman with a young girl inside...but they called for help when I entered so I just hoped they (she) was not the Lady I was working for...cause I've BJ'd them all in that area (except for the butcher). So although I'm aware of the other two places inside that tunnel area...I guess one of them is my way to the key in question? I did find a girl in that tunnel with a key and I guess my next move is to open that gate and hope what I see on the other side will have what I'm looking for? ;) So please, for whatever it's worth, I hope you understand that this is meant in the best of interests for everyone in future FM's...please make sure we have a way out of a jam :D Ta and Good Hunting!

Finally finished this one. Had a tough time finding Leon's Key
I reread the "Letter to Leon" to find out he was involved with Tina, then I went back to search the the brothel for her. The red key was extremely hard to see against her red dress and I had to knock her out to find out who she was.
Overall a very nice mission. Several times, I was thinking I was nearly finished then I found a whole new area to explore.
I can't wait to play Escape. I had already started it, not realizing it was part 3 in the series. I have the English versions of all 3 missions now and the translations are quite good. BTW, the English title for Abendspatziergang should be "An Evening Stroll"
One more thing:
I had alot of problems with the brothel. Sometimes, people could see me when my visibility gem was completely dark, and people could hear me tiptoe on the tile in the next floor.
I prefer translating into German. Maybe you can go through the texts and send a corrected version to Christine, while the FM is still new and many people haven't played it.

but as I pointed out...it would have been helpful if all the signs or a name plate on the buildings would have their names on them for identity. Some pictures on signs were either difficult to see or not really understood...others were very easy...so just to cover all the bases....naming them would make it so much easier :)
I did find my key(s) and I also noticed the noise factor...high alertness from one floor to another...sounds really crossed over a lot. I must say though...that the architecture in some of these areas were especially nice and very pretty to see. I'm now on my way down the well again but now I have the correct key and to see what happened to Leon  :D Overall I'm really enjoying this mission even though it's not been all that easy in "Easy" mode in some instances, LOL That was quite a surprise I found myself in when coming back into town from brothel and no-one had been left conscious :D Thank goodness there was no-one to come to their rescue! At least they didn't get to any, even though the two guards in front of brothel were still there guarding when I left, LOL Ta and Good Hunting!

Wonderful fan mission! I loved the rich detail of the
homes and buildings! Plenty of loot to grab too.
As I was making my way into the pub I had a big
smile on my face thinking Now I know I am a MASTER THIEF!
And then...THEN...
(well we'll just have to let everyone else play to see what happens next);)
Please tell me there will be a sequel to this cool level!

I am having trouble locating the diary
I have been down to the celler area of the big house and pulled the lever on the bed. It opens something but I can't find what!
Also;
If you go past the well and head into the tunnel leading to the big house containing the diary on your left is an iron gate with what looks like a hammerite temple and guards in the distance. Is there anyway to get there?
Christine on 1/6/2002 at 13:18
@ ouzman
If you have
activate the lever in the celler go back to the stairs and look up. The banner has moving and behind the banner is the diary, you need a rope arrow to get it.
...you will reach
the hammerite temple after you find Leons hideout
...I hope it helpes you..:)
