Lost saves in Lost City.

So here's my problem:

I'm playing Thief Gold for the first time (played the original Dark Project on release), and have gotten most of the way through the Lost City.

However, on checking my objectives (thinking it was about time I got out of there) the system is telling me that I don't have all the Keeper Masks.

Sure enough, in my inventory, there is only one. Hrumph. I guess I must have missed the two in the theatre.

So I run back there, and check - but the Masks aren't there. I run back south to the place before the lava stepping-stones jump where I remember finding the other one, and it's not there either.

I think what has happened is that I DID collect all Masks, like I remember doing, but between one save and another, the game has forgotten that I had them on me. And they've vanished.

So now I'm stuck.

Has anyone else had this happen to them before?
Is there a way to re-boot the game so that they re-appear?
Will I have to just play with the launch files and propel myself to the next level?

Bummed.

Keeper masks? Somehow i want to feel those were Medallions. 2 of them.

I played Lost City about a month ago. I strongly remember that one of the medallions was on a platform, where i saw the first... Mage and a lava around that platform.
Unfortunately i don't remember where i got the second mask, but see what i found from Dark Project (a little diffrent, but i hope this part is the same):

Leaving The City

1. On the way out you will encounter some more Fire Elementals. If you remain stealthy and use water arrows sparingly, you have enough water arrows to last the mission. Go back to the bottom of the tower. When the patrolling Elementals are out of sight, run back across to the other tower, climb the rubble pile inside and mantle up to the walkway. Jump from the walkway down to the gray path. Head south to the tunnel, turn right and follow it back to the campsite where you got the last medallion.

Doesn't sound like the the theatre. Check that place out.

P.S. I really do not remember any masks being an objective.
Just something like this:
-Get into the Lost City
-~2000 loot or so + 500 in gems
-Get the talisman of fire
-Get the Keeper Medallions
-Leave the Lost City

Have i gone mad? How come i cannot recall those masks being an objective when i played such a good map just a month ago?!

Thor02: You are correct. The mask objective is not written into the list, and is entirely optional. The only way for 5tephe to know the masks are not being counted is by the total loot count.:)

5tephe: It hasn't happened to me...yet. You'll have to skip ahead if you don't have an earlier save or don't want to replay the map. :erg:

LOL. Cool dude. Those were the same masks from Thief II level 15 - Masks? Ahaha. That level was really hard for me back then and i was really glad when i owned it. Also it was possibly my favourite level. Ahaha. Gotta finish up Thief Gold (final GOLD mission + then ~4 normal missions) and replay Thief II for good. ^_^

Anyway, Stephe - i don't see it THAT much of a deal. Just live without the maximum loot - what's the big deal? I missed some loot too in it.

Nah guys - you're both right.

I have picked up the extra commission, and been picking up masks, but my problem is (as you have rightly pointed out, Thor02) with MEDALLIONS not Masks.

So now I'll go back looking for Medallions. Silly me.
