I don't think this topic has been done before, so I will start. I tried to get Thief running on a Pentium 166 MMX with a 2 MB video card in the late '90s. It was not a pretty sight. You could only play in software rendering, and it got about 10 FPS! I think we still have that PC somewhere too.
As far as laptops go, I also ran Thief on a Presario 1200 with a K6-III 533 mhz chip and 4 megs of video memory. Thief 1 was certainly playable, but I'm sure T2 would bring it to it's knees.
I still have this machine at my mom's house and it still works.

PII 400mhz, 128mb ram, 8mb graphics card
Both TG and T2 ran fine, and I think most pre-2003 FMs worked fine.

Pentium 133
24 MB Ram
1 MB factory graphics card
Ran horribly. Framrate would fluctuate between 2 FPS and .25 FPS, and all the colors were washed out and bright. But I completed Bafford's anyway. :p

I think I first played Thief on a Cyrix 233MX, with 64MB of RAM. I was never that bothered about frame rate (I used to enjoy Doom 2 at about 15fps) so that wasn't a problem, but starting a mission or loading a save game would take about 3 minutes, mostly because I think it paged a lot of memory out to the hard disk. These days, loading a save game takes about 3 seconds.

Uuh... Our first 3d-gameable PC came right after the Windows 3.11 66 Mhz 12MB Ram 1MB PCI Graphics card computer:
Pentium III, 500 MHz
128 MB Ram
ATI Rage 128 (32 MB?)
Aztech Sound Galaxy Waverider 32 Plus
Not too spectacular...

AMD Athlon k6500
ATI 128 Rage
Creative Sound blaster
128 Meg RAM
WIN 98SE
Still have it with the games, still runs all 5 of the initial games without a hitch.
Thats (TDP 1.14, TDP 1.33, TGOLD 1.37, TMA 1.07, TMA 1.18) with full audio and acceleration. I did have to deal with the Z-Buffer though.

Intel Celeron 400
3dfx Voodoo 3000 PCI
192MB SDRAM
Win98SE
Ran fine 'n dandy, all OMs and FMs except a FM from Saturnine which I forgot the name of, that one ran a bit sluggish. Fog was absolutely perfect. :)

Pentium II 350 Mhz
3dfx Blaster Banshee 16 MB
128 MB RAM
Windows 95
Aah... the memories, that crock was my first interaction with Thief; TDP and TMA ran perfectly (at the time) with 800x600 resolution. Didn't remember the sound though.

Intel Celeron 300
160 MB RAM
Ati Rage Pro 4MB
ESS1868 Audio
TDP ran good, except of transparency effects. Next upgrade were Nvidia Vanta LT and Vortex2 soundcard. Both T1 and T2 ran perfectly well with them.
