Has anyone played it yet? IGN gave it 6.3, citing that it lacked largely in fun and addictiveness.
RPS described it as Tetris translated into a 2.5D platformer, or something along those lines.
I'd wager that it controls a shit load better with a mouse than on a dual analogue gamepad.
If there's no PC demo then I'll download the XBLA trial.

I know Eurogamer gave it an 8, though I'm holding out on reading reviews until I'm in a situation where I could actually buy it.

I saw the gameplay trailer - it looks like one of those "artsy" games.
You know what I mean, the kind of games that like "all purty" but their whole gameplay revolves around a single gimmick that isn't all that great and becomes real repetitive and boring after about 10 minutes.

I've played about 5-6 levels of it so far and it's fairly average. The visuals and music create a nice mood but the gameplay itself is quite sparse and hinders your enjoyment of that mood (since you are constantly moving and often looking the corners of the screen to see what you have and what's coming next). Unlike, in say, Braid where the gameplay twist is solidly executed and put in the service of some satisfying and clever puzzles, Lucidity's major gameplay conceit is barely fleshed out at all. Maybe it gets trickier later, but so far most of the different 'pieces' you can place function in pretty much the same way so there isn't much puzzling involved since you can just pretty much plonk down anything. What the game would greatly benefit from is some 'piece' which halts the progress of the character for a time so that you can think a little more about what to place and create opportunities for more complex puzzles.
Still it is early days and it's a pleasant enough lunchtime diversion so I'm hopeful that it might get a bit better later on.
