That's about how I play it. The restriction is realistic, and more fun for me than finding weird and obscure ways to get past every guard.

My style is no alerts, no damage, no use of consumables (arrows, flashbombs) and 100% of the loot. There are some spots that are tough to impossible.

When you say "no alerts" do you mean absolutely zero alerts, as in, "This guard has never become suspicious of anything, even a noise that he immediately figured was a rat" and "Has never asked why something was missing, moved, or open"? If so, then my hat is off to you. That would be the ideal way to ghost.
I don't try that hard though. The game becomes less immersive the more technical I try to be with my restrictions.

Anything past a first alert like "It must have been rats" comment. When a guard begins to search.

Ah, so it's not REALLY hardcore. :D Yeah I play that way too.
I've loosened up a bit and decided it's kinda lame keeping all this gear and never using it so I'm more liberal with moss arrows and especially noisemakers. I get to see more of the game that way (reactions and such). But I still only reserve flashbombs for undead. No real good reason to ghost past them. What are they gonna do, tell the city watch? Or maybe get togtether and have a zombie meeting about how best to deal with Garrett the master thief?
"Arrrrrrggggghhhhhh. Order! Moaaaaaan. Order!"
"Moaaaaaaannnn..... Official zombie meeting..... GRARRRRGHHH is now in session."

OK, so I ghosted RUnning Interference in T2, and then went back when I had all the objectives done cept the 8 KO's, and then committed 8 KO's to complete the level. Is this still considered Lytha/ghost-style?
dr. cello on 11/6/2004 at 00:59
I believe that if you explicitly have to do something to complete the objective, then you are allowed to do it and maintain Lytha/ghost style, according to the official rules.

I'd love a clarification of ghosting, for there are some differences in the guard AI between t1-2 and t3.
I'll propose a definition and you can flame away:
"Achieving all the objectives of the mission on the hardest difficulty setting with no interaction with the occupants. Specifically no blackjacks, no kills, never seen"
That being the case, I can presume that guard suspicion is OK, (i.e. seeing doors open (sloppy, tsk tsk), or more specifically noticing missing loot) - as long as they dont definitively see you (i.e. increment the "times discovered" counter)
Now, does this definition include:
* throwing crates and barrels to act as distractions?
* using noise arrows to act as distractions?
* using flashbombs to blind guards BEFORE they see you?
* moving crates to block doorways to obstruct patrol paths?
Finally, you can argue the point that 100% loot should be included, but what if the loot is carried on someone in a way that it can't be pickpocketed (i.e. necklace, eyepatch) and the ONLY way to get it is to blackjack the carrier?

"Achieving all the objectives of the mission on the hardest difficulty setting with no interaction with the occupants. Specifically no blackjacks, no kills, never seen" Optional: Leave everything the way you found it. If a door was closed when you started the level, it should be closed when the level is finished. If a torch was lit when you started the level, it should still be lit when the level is finished. Etc, etc. A lot of people like to include 100% loot as another objective as well.
That being the case, I can presume that guard suspicion is OK, (i.e. seeing doors open (sloppy, tsk tsk), or more specifically noticing missing loot) - as long as they dont definitively see you (i.e. increment the "times discovered" counter) Correct

In my opinion, these circumstances all refer to a specific type of ghost: a poulterguist. (is that spelled right?) So, yes, I believe these actions are all fair game just so long as they don't lead to the AI discovering your existance. Ghosts have been known to throw objects around a room, move objects to block exits from a room, make obscure sounds and bright flashes of light.
Finally, you can argue the point that 100% loot should be included, but what if the loot is carried on someone in a way that it can't be pickpocketed (i.e. necklace, eyepatch) and the ONLY way to get it is to blackjack the carrier?
There isn't a single piece of loot that fits that description within any of the levels: It's all out in the city streets. So, you don't really have to worry about that. :thumb:
For the most part, I think you have the style down.
