I
am making a lot of new posts lately, aren't I? Well, it's taken a while, but I've found enough gear in Morrowind made almost especially for mages.
Some notes:
You can have all of these, if you'd like. Or you can plan it out so you end up with a full suit which gives you the most benefits. It's up to you. I haven't included some things such as weapons because it's mostly up to you. Though Keening does give a mage a lot of benefits.
The location of MOST of these items can be found (
http://www.uesp.net/morrow/hints/mwartifacts.shtml) here.
Amulets:Amulet of Unity - It offers +10 to Willpower and Intelligence, as well as +5 to all spellcasting abilities. Pretty nice, if I do say so myself.
Necromancer's Amulet - With a CE +25 to Intelligence, Restore Health 1pt., Resist Normal Weapons 25%, and Spell Absorption of 25pts, you can't miss out on this. But you have to join the Mage's guild in order to get it (or you can kill Trebonius in Vivec.)
Amulet of Flesh Made Whole - Another amulet from a Telvanni quest. This one cures common and blight disease, poison, and restores health, strength, agility, endurance, and personality. It's a must for pretty must anyone, really.
Rings (A lot here):Mentor's Ring - This ring fortifies Intelligence and Willpower by 10 points constantly. It's found in a tomb just north of Seyda Neen.
Ring of Phynaster - This gives you CE 20% resistance to poison, shock, and magicka.
Ring of Equity - Another reward from a Telvanni Quest, this ring lets you absorb 100% of, and reflect 70% of, magicka for 30 seconds at a time. As a mage yourself, you'll realize how useful this is when battling creatures that can reflect your own spells.
Marara's Ring - It's CE, but it only offers 20% reflect. There's a slightly better 40% Resist Normal Weapons on it, and a 20% increase to acrobatics, which probably won't help mages much.
Destagmer's Ring - This one offers 30% resistance to Fire, Frost, and Shock. And it's CE.
Ring of Sanguine... - I've found that most Sanguine items that modify magical stats are rings. These raise one stat by five points. (Ex: Ring of Sanguine Red Wisdom gives CE +5 to Destruction.)
Robes:Redas Robe of Deeds - Useful only for it's CE 50pts. Feather. The Detect Animal 25ft isn't much good. If you can't see an animal at that distance, you need to stop playing.
Robe of the Drake's Pride - You're asked to fetch this in a Telvanni Quest, but you can get it anytime. It gives a CE Intelligence boost, 25% resist fire and 25% reflect. Nice, but only if combined with other items so the effects stack.
Mantle of Woe - You NEED this robe if you're going to be a mage. It's CE and offers: Fortify Magicka 5x INT, Fortify Conjuration 50pts, Weakness to Normal Weapons 20% on Self, Drain Personality 100pts, Sun Damage 20pts.
(Hint: The Masque of Clavicus Vile can be used to counter some of the personality drain, and Marara's Ring or the Necromancer's Amulet can counter the weakness to normal weapons. The sundamage, however, is a big issue. You can try enchanting items with CE Restore Health, but it means you'll lose benefits from other items. I'd just wear the Robe during the night or inside.)Helmets:I don't generall use helmets, and very few give benefits to mages. But if you insist...Masque of Clavicus Vile - CE Fortify Personality 30pts.
Helm of Graff the White - CE Reflect 10 points. This is obtained through an Imperial Legion quest.
Cuirass:Cuirass of the Saviors Hide - CE 60% Resist Magicka. What more to say?
Dragonbone Cuirass - CE 100% Resist Fire, made especially for those 'too hot to handle' battles.
Ebony Mail - Probably THE best cuirass for a mage. It offers CE Resist Fire 75%, a 50pt. Shield, and Resist Magicka 20%. Though as Ania was once kind enough to point out, "Not everyone likes walking around in a soap bubble." But at the cost of that protection? I don't mind. I don't mind at all. It's obtained through a high ranking Imperial Temple quest.
Boots:Boots of Blinding Speed - CE Fortify Speed 200 pts. I recommend this over all other boots. But it also blinds you 100%. Cast resist magicka 100% before equipping!
Gauntlets/Gloves:Aryon's Dominator - A passive item, but well worth it. It commands creature and humans up to level 15 for 120 seconds! Wow! Even a custom made spell isn't as good as this. It's obtained through a House Telvanni quest.
Aryon's Helper - Another passive item. This one summons a Storm, Frost, and Fire Atronach to do your bidding, for 60, 90, and 120 seconds respectively. Another great item obtained through the Telvanni!
Wraithguard - What to say about it? CE Shield 10pts, Reflect 20pts, Resist Blight 50pts, and Resist Frost, Fire, Shock, Poison, and Magicka 10pts.
If I left anything out, let me know. I'm always finding more :thumb:
