This'll probably sound odd, but I've been wandrin' round Vvardenfell on and off now for a couple of years, and I've yet to use a spell, being more inclined toward fighting than magic. Anyway I could do with using the unhinging spell to get into Saryoni's room {see related thread} but i can't seem to cast it.
If I've got this right you you click on the spell, drag it to the picture of yourself {in the menu} come out of the menu, press R and click the mouse. This is what I'm trying anyway, but nothing happens beyond a brief flash.
When I drag the scroll to the picture of myself the scroll opens and just gives me a choice to close it again. :confused:

Try locating it from the Spells menu instead of from the Inventory. :)
